eBay is keeping money that belongs to me
I sold an item in January and generated a FedEx label through eBay. The item arrived at its destination fine and everything was okay. FedEx then comes back after the fact and charges me an ADDITIONAL $312.77 for shipping, which eBay takes from me. I contact FedEx on my own and send proof of the size and the weight of the item, the box used, etc and they agree to refund the $312.77 but of course that money goes back to eBay. I have a check number, the name of the eBay person who signed the check, the date the check cleared, etc and eBay has still not refunded me this money!!!

·5 months agoI cant understand how a check could be linked back up to a seller to get any credit in the first place....that would be way too much human involvement for an automated site...which I guess would explain why the OP doesn't see their money

·5 months agoI am not questioning your facts, but 2 things seem very strange to me....

A "check" made out to ebay signed by an individual? It seems unlikely you could acquire this information.
Who uses paper checks anymore? I can't even fathom a refund being issued on a paper check made out to ebay.....
again, not doubting, just curious...I have had a refund erroneously charged and credit was posted to my account?

OP5 months agoFedEx does apparently. I have the email from them.

·5 months agoFile a Notice of Dispute and provide that email along with the copy of the check as evidence in your dispute. If the matter is not resolved then follow thru with a Arbitration or Court Hearing.

OP5 months agoI have a picture of a cleared check with all the information on it. I know it sounds primitive but it's true. This isn't the first time this has happened either. It's just the first time eBay has not paid me once they've been paid.

·5 months agoMy spouse is an ex-banking official so i asked.... Did you provide ebay with a 'trace number' that FedX can provide you (this helps ebay locate the funds). Or has ebay "acknowledged/verified" the receipt of said funds, but simply not credited them to your account yet?

·5 months agoDid you contact eBay? You would not contact FedEx directly for those disputes usually, and I suspect eBay doesn't even know who the money would go to.
I was charged for a label shipping cost adjustment that I believe is incorrect. How can I dispute the adjustment?
FedEx and UPS disputes should be submitted to eBay Customer Service. We will work with the carrier on reviewing the disputed charges. If your dispute is approved, you’ll see a credit to your Payments account for the adjustment amount and you’ll also get an email from eBay letting you know that the dispute was approved.

OP5 months agoDisputing through eBay NEVER results in any resolution in my favor. That's why I take matters into my own hands and dispute it with FedEx or UPS myself.
