eBay International Shipping
I would like to order an item listed on eBay from the US and have it delivered to Germany. Even tough the seller activated eBay international shipping for the item I can only choose USPS international shipping (directly from the seller to me not via eBay) as an option. This is considerably more expensive than vie eBay's international shipping program.
I contacted the seller and he reached out to eBay. He got in contact with an eBay representative and this representative told him that the item is eligible for eBay international shipping program and that they made some adjustments to the listing so it should be possible to order it via this route now.
However it is still not possible for me to pick eBay international shipping upon checking out. Does anyone know how to fix this?

·8 months agoShipping direct to Germany will require the seller to register with a lucid number to comply with Germany's packaging act. Most sellers aren't doing that. Good chance the package would be returned if they didn't have # or simply confiscated.

There have been a few reports today from sellers that eIS is not being shown on their listings even though they are opted in & have been using it recently. There may be a technical issue.

·8 months ago@ferncliff-39 it's NOT a technical issue; there are MANY items that are not allowed to be shipped to various countries so it depends on the 'category' an item is listed in (Military, Toys, Foods, Drugs, Used Auto Parts etc etc.)

I wonder if a seller would even do this....

OP8 months agoI know this can be hard to comprehend for the US mind, but it is quite common in Europe to either live in more than one country or move between countries frequently.

·8 months agoIts not hard to comprehend. Their statement is completely garbage. Really wouldn't matter what the registered country and shipping country are. Sellers ship with those conditions on the daily.

·8 months ago@os_183464 EIS does NOT ship to Germany; so that 'option' is not possible. (due to licensing/registration for recycling etc)

OP8 months agoIt is also not possible to ship to the UK or Austria, where as through different sellers a comparable product can be sent to Germany using EIS.

·8 months agoeBay International Shipping has to know the rules for all countries they ship to. If they determine something is not allowed to be shipped by them, then they will not. If the seller was told a way to fix the problem and it did not work then shipping thru the eBay option won't be allowed.
There are options that "may" be cheaper than the eBay options and USPS International Shipping, but it is up to the seller if they want to use them.
What is it you are wanting shipped to Germany?
