eBay International Hub shipped me someone else’s item before mine even arrived at the hub
I am the buyer located in Canada and the order is from the US purchased through the eBay international shipping service. The seller shipped my item through USPS to the international hub early last week. On Friday the 17th the eBay tracking updated to say my item arrived at the hub and was immediately assigned a DHL tracking number and processed/shipped by DHL.
The problem is, USPS still hadn’t actually delivered my item to the hub in the first place. There was never an out for delivery scan on Friday and USPS tracking continued to update throughout the weekend that it did go out for delivery in Illinois on Saturday but was rescheduled to next business day due to the hub being closed on weekends.
I’ve desperately been contacting customer service all weekend but they seem to have difficulty understanding the problem and keep assuring me that my item is on the way when it physically cannot be as it was still with USPS when whatever they sent me on Friday was shipped.
Now my REAL item has been delivered to the hub as of this morning (the 20th) by USPS. I am desperate to receive this item and extremely concerned that due to them somehow shipping me someone else’s order on Friday and marking my order as received and shipped that my actual item is going to just be disposed of or liquidated without anyone looking further into it and realizing the incorrect package was shipped to me on Friday.
Customer service says they’ve submitted a ticket to the shipping team but they won’t even see it for ages and by then who knows what will have happened to my actual package. I’m sure I’ll just get the same canned response that they received the item and shipped it to me on Friday the 17th when it’s physically impossible and the tracking clearly shows my real item being delivered to them three days layer after they shipped me some unknown item with DHL.
Is it possible that I’m still shipped the correct item once they process it in the next day or two? Or will their system just get totally confused and the real package will now disappear into the abyss? I have no idea how the hub processes items or how some other package was attached to my order on Friday and shipped to me. It’s so frustrating that nobody can actually contact the hub and inform them of the error and it just has to go through tickets that aren’t even looked at for over a week until it’s too late.
This is mostly a rant but has anyone else had this happen before and still received their item? I’m unable to replace it if it does disappear as it’s the only one that exists anywhere online and was perfect. It’s the worst item this could have possibly happened to. Any assistance at all would be appreciated.

·10 months agoYour seller can contact the Hub. There is a email address and a phone number posted on the Order Details for 90 days. Are they not interested in finding out what is going on?

OP10 months agoThey pretty much just disregarded everything I said when I contacted them on Saturday and said the tracking looked fine to them and not to worry and that it was clearly relabelled and shipped to me with DHL. Said it was likely just an erroneous scan with USPS and everything was fine, which is clearly not the case as the USPS tracking updates are all totally normal and there were multiple throughout the weekend after Friday including the actual delivered scan today. Not like they simply missed an out for delivery scan.
