eBay International Delivery
Package is only going 600 miles but eBay International Delivery Forecast has updated three times. Received at shipping facility on 1 April. Initial forecast was 22 April then changed to 25 April and now has changed to between May 1st and May 9th.
I wonder if the side trip to SWITZERLAND has anything to do with the delay? Seems like an afwal lot of extra effort to delivery a six ounce package for only $14.00

OP2 years agoI made an Insurance Claim to PIP late Sunday evening and referenced that all the various Delivery Dates are not possible, and that the Buyer has stated they did not receive item. Also provided screenshots of where the various delivery dates are stated.
Received notice from PayPal that PIP approved $29.00 of the $35.20 Claim. Not sure what happened to the other $6.20?

This label has a shipping protection value of $29.00. That is the maximum value that can be processed for this claim. The coverage is $15.00 for your item and your originally quoted shipping costs are also reimbursed. The costs are generated at the time you created your label, but may have later increased or decreased.
After I refund the $29 and eBay refunds their part it will be within $1.50.

·2 years agoIn other words, when it comes to shipping, EISD insurance will refund you the amount you paid for the label, not the amount the buyer paid you for shipping.

OP2 years agoIt was my understanding that by using eBay shipping that once eBay accepted the item and they reshipped it I would not be accountable for lost or missing item and any claim would be closed in my favor. This does not seem to be the way it works.
They have placed funds on hold and still expect me to resolve this even though they show item has again been delivered on June 12th.
So far the item has been in route for over 2 months and has been delivered on Jun 6th, June 7th and June 12th.

·2 years agoAs I said above, you shipped semi-direct with eBay International Standard Delivery (EISD). You did not ship with eBay International Shipping (eIS) which means you don't get eIS seller protections. They are 2 completely different services and you would not have been able to ship EISD if your listing didn't offer direct shipping to that buyer's country*.
Key info: this is an EISD shipment not an eIS shipment so eBay will look at final delivery, not delivery to EISD hub. Delivery to EISD hub is only relevant if the package is lost in transit from hub to buyer and you're filing an insurance claim.
Because your package shows delivery to the buyer, you are covered by seller protections. If you ask eBay to step in, the INR will be closed in your favor. I would ask eBay to step in and add in the comments that tracking [number] confirms delivery on [date, time]. It should close out shortly after in your favor.
*Specifically, that listing offers USPS First Class Package to Mexico and does not offer eIS at all.

OP2 years agoI am a little nervous to ask eBay to step in because they may give me a Defect and deduct the funds from my account. I already provided them with their tracking number so they should know the details of the shipment.
I see three different delivery dates so this is what I am thinking (I have not sent it yet). What do you think?

·2 years agoI'd leave it at "shows the item was delivered" and don't include the various dates. CS can look at tracking and see for themselves.
There's really only one delivery scan on June 7, but there's also an attempted delivery scan on May 14 - either one of those on their own are enough to activate your seller protections.

OP2 years agoBuyer still claiming item not received. eBay closed the case as follows.
What do you suppose was the reason for eBay's comment that the date scan was after my stated handling time? I have 5 days handling however I shipped it on the same day as ordered.

AI hasn't been trained to differentiate as to what response needs to be sent, so they just hit all they can with one reply.

I provided the eBay International Delivery Tracking Number. So this should be all I need to do, yes? Should I also provide the USPS Tracking Number to the eBay Hub?

Looks like the PO had a failed delivery attempt in mid-May saying they could not find the addressee, then they did not re-attempt delivery for another 2 weeks. Says successfully delivered a couple days ago so the buyer will need to take this up with their local post office.

There is no trip to Switzerland. All I see is a package going from California to Mexico and usual confusion over the way Asendia tracking scans read.
Asendia is a company founded by Swiss Post and French Post, so you will often see references to those countries on tracking even though the package is not traveling through those countries.
Package left the facility in Cali on April 15 then stalled. It is probably waiting to get through Mexican customs.
