Good morning,
Buyer states this shipping promotion pictured below came up when she was on my shop site.
Can anyone tell me where I can find information on this promotion? The buyer states she used it at checkout, but eBay still charged me for a shipping label. It cost me $6.37 to ship a $4.92 order.
I was not aware that eBay was offering free shipping to the buyer and making the seller responsible to pay for shipping.

·4 months agoI had an offer today that I accepted. When I clicked review I saw the above mentioned free shipping notice . I accepted the offer but shortly thereafter the buyer messaged me and cancelled the order because the free shipping offer did not go through. I contacted eBay CS and they were absolutely clueless. I am new to eBay selling and now intend to list on other platforms as well.

·5 months agoBuyer coupons/promotions given by eBay DO NOT affect anything on the seller's end. You still receive your normal price plus shipping and buy the shipping label as always. These will also not show up on any of your reports or order details. The seller is completely removed from the process. The only reason you even knew about it is the buyer told you.
@monica-sells The buyer can use the coupon 10 times on different orders.

·5 months agoBecause, with this coupon, the buyer does not pay the shipping price, the benefit to the seller is that
eBay will not retain a Final Value Fee (FVF) percentage on that shipping price.
One of OP's listings shows $9.35 shipping to my zip code. If I buy it, I will not have to pay that $9.35.
Therefore, eBay will not retain 13.6% of $9.35 -- which comes to $1.27.
That item is priced at $6.50. Sales tax in my area is 7.75%, which comes to $0.50. The total amount I would have to pay, if I buy that item, would be $7.00, way less than $10.00. Therefore, eBay's per-order part of the FVF would be only $0.30 (as opposed to $0.40 on total orders $10.01 and over.)
Altogether, without that free shipping coupon, OP (as the seller) would be paying $1.37 more in FVFs to eBay on that sale (when shipped to my zip code).

·4 months agoDoes eBay notify seller that they are doing this? I checked Seller Announcements and didn't find anything about it.

·5 months agoThat's just on the buyers side.
Ebay covers the buyers shipping, but you still receive your regular funds.
You still buy the shipping label as normal.

·5 months agoIf the coupon was applicable to your item (meaning "Select Items" and/or the Terms & Conditions) and your item qualified for the promo and it was presented to the buyer by ebay during checkout AND IF the buyer entered the "code" properly at checkout, then ebay would have absorbed the shipping cost via a credit of some sort. I don't know what the "10X use" means.

Copied-and-pasted from the offer itself: "Max[imum] ten redemptions per user."
The offer ends at midnight Pacific time on June 30, 2026.
