Does Chicago airport or parcel depots currently have a backlog with sending parcels overseas?
Summary: snoophdnz is experiencing delays with parcels sent from Chicago to New Zealand, with no tracking updates since August. eoma689485 explains that Chicago O’Hare International Airport has been experiencing delays due to operational issues, affecting international freight. They advise opening an 'Item not received' complaint if the delivery date has passed, as eBay will likely refund the payment. If the parcels arrive later, eBay typically allows the recipient to keep the items.
Hi, The ebay depot in Chicago sent 2 parcels to me on August 6 and August 14, but it is now September 11 and they have still not arrived here in New Zealand. There have been no tracking updates since those 2 dates.
I have purchased a lot of items over the last few months and everything else arrived here fine, without a delay like this. Does anyone know if there is a backlog or some type of problem?
Or who I should contact? I have emailed DAI Post, but they said they haven't received the parcels yet.
Thank you for any clarification.

·1 month agoThroughout August 2026, Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) has experienced major capacity caps, severe air traffic congestion, and operational ground stops. Because the eBay International Shipping hub relies heavily on O'Hare commercial flights to route mail overseas, international freight has backed up significantly.
DAI Post is a destination partner courier. They only scan a package once the physical bulk container has landed in New Zealand and cleared local customs. If it is still sitting in a warehouse container in Chicago, it does not exist in DAI Post's local physical inventory yet, which is why their customer support team cannot see it.
Check your estimated delivery date, if the last due date has passed, open an Item not received complaint and escalate it as soon as you can.
Because this is an official eBay logistics issue, eBay will refund your money in full out of their own pockets. If the packages eventually show up late in New Zealand via DAI Post, eBay usually allows you to keep the item.
