Do USPS small packages now come with some level of insurance from either Ebay or USPS?
Has this been upgraded to be level with UPS that seems to offer insurance up to $100. Plus what has been community experience in the unlikely event of a damaged package that needs a claim?

·3 years agoSize doesn't matter, the service chosen does. First Class Package service packages (which tend to be small due to a 1lb weight limit) have no included insurance, Parcel Select/Retail Ground and Media Mail have no insurance included. Priority Mail and Priority Express packages do have included insurance up to $100 at commercial rates we pay here on eBay.
You have to buy insurance for First Class and Parcel Select/Retail Ground packages from USPS or a third party.

·3 years agoAs noted in the other post, only Priority Mail automatically includes insurance.
But that is going to change in July! USPS is going to merge First Class package, Retail Ground, and Parcel Select Ground into one service called "Ground Advantage" which will include $100 of insurance coverage.

·3 years agoGood to know because I often ship small items PM because of the lack of coverage, though FCM is always lower. Takes away my pricing edge.

·3 years agoDepending on the item value, weight and Zone, it might be cheaper to use First Class and purchase the insurance.
