Customer bought 2 of the same item, Ebay just added the weights but didn't change box dimensions.
I had a customer purchase two of the same item that come in their own individual box when shipped. I thought it would make a shipping label for each item that was purchased but Ebay just combined the weights of both items, didn't change the box dimensions and only gave me one label. So the customer was charged $39 for shipping when it really should have been about $60. (~$30 each) I had to purchase the second label and ate $30.
I'm assuming something is wrong with my shipping settings but I don't know what it is.

·6 months agoeBay's system is not programmed to account for different box sizes. It's a pain point for sure. Your options include:
Don't offer combined shipping.
Offer combined shipping but limit buyers to the number of items they can buy.
Only put a quantity of 1 on your listing, use the out of stock setting, and update the stock each time one sells.
Use free shipping so the item price accounts for the ship cost per item.
etc.
As for the labels, it's up to you to generate the number of labels needed. You can generate up to 5 per order.
If you want more info about any of these options come back for more info. Sorry nobody replied to you before now @raketron .
