Combine shipping
Hello sellers.
I need help setting up combine shipping. I tried many ways to fix it, but my customers are telling me they are being charged for each item they want to purchase.
I sell doll clothes, and I want to offer free shipping for orders $35 and above and $4.50 for orders below $35.
Right now, the only way I can offer combined shipping is if they request an invoice, but it seems like some customers don't know how it works, so they are paying shipping for each item and then I issue a refund.
Is this how eBay works, do customer have to request an invoice in order to get combined shipping?

·1 year agoI have set up combined shipping but it does not always work, and I can' t figure out if there some underlying principle as to when it works, when it does not, or if it is just an ebay glitch.
First you need to set up your combined shipping rules. In case you don't have them, you need to go to shipping preferences:

2. I only use flat shipping rates so next, you create combined shipping rules. For example, one I use is to add 10 cents to each additional item. SO when they buy two, the first is charged the postage you specify and then they pay extra 10 cents for the second item. For international shipments I add either 50 cents or a dollar depending on the size of the prints I sell. You don't have to charge extra for additional items. Name the rules.
Once you set up these rules, you need to create your, I would call it postage templates, officially business policies for shipping:

there you specify how much postage you will charge and which services you will use. Towards the end on this page you see an option " Flat shipping rule". There you select which rule (that you created previously) will be associated with a particular postage template. Here, for example, you can select USPS ground advantage service, specify your postage $4.50 and you can also specify which rule to use (e.g. $1 for each additional item), or not to select any.
You can create various templates. The benefit of these templates is, that when the postage goes up, you can just edit these templates and they will automatically update on all your listings.
Finally, when you create a new item, towards the bottom of the listing page you see SHIPPING where you select which shipping policy (template) will be associated with this particular listing. You can also bulk edit your listing and change policies for several items at once.
You set up your free shipping on the shipment preferences rule (the first link) under promotional shipping rule. The options are self-explanatory.
