Charging for a Certain Number of Purchases
Let me see if I can explain what I'd like to do:
I want to create a shipping policy that adds an additional fee if the number of items ordered goes over a certain amount.
If someone orders 1-2yds of fabric, shipping is nice and simple; I have a flat rate because the length can actually fit in a mailer. But if they order a lot of fabric, it becomes too big to fit in a mailer. In that case, I have to ship it on a roll or bolt. This ups the shipping cost because the roll is an irregular package.
I'd like to apply a fee (let's say $6 for the sake of a number) to the shipping only after a certain amount is purchased. Is the photo below the right format/location for this, or would it register as +$6 for each additional item?
I have no idea if where I am in this menu is the right place, let alone if this is even possible. If it is, any help would be appreciated!

·5 months agoI use variations frequently and your listing set up appears correct to me. I sell cosmetics so I may have 50 tubes of ABC lipstick in 13 different shades. I use 1 listing for all 50 tubes.
But combined shipping will only work within the listing. Each item must have the same item number in order for combined shipping to work. Your items are listed separately so combined shipping needs to be approached differently.
1) There used to be a "request total from seller." I don't see that anymore. I am not sure if discontinued.
2) You may always do a refund of "excess" shipping. I would wait until the return window has closed and be mindful of ebay fees and potential returns.
3) In the description, encourage buyers to ask for combined shipping. This become a pain if buyer has already paid and then asks for discount.
IMO: You may want to mention if fabric is shipped gently rolled or as a flat piece (with folds.)

OP5 months agoThank you so much! I had completely overlooked variations, so I'm really glad you pointed them out to me.
I'll make sure to include an explanation for the way the fabric ships (gently folded in a mailer vs on a roll) as well!
