Charged for Shipping Label
Summary: bluff1799 shared their experience of being charged for a shipping label on an online platform, even though they shipped the item themselves and were initially credited by customer service. Despite multiple calls, the charge was deducted from their account as they were informed the label could not be refunded. bdmh-enterprises explained that new sellers often use a managed shipping option that automatically charges for labels, suggesting that switching to an advanced management system could avoid such issues. kensgiftshop acknowledged this new shipping program and clarified that labels are non-refundable. bluff1799 expressed frustration, noting that the customer service representatives were unaware of these policies.
I recently sold an item and saw that immediately I was charged for shipping label. I called Customer Service and they issued a credit because I was shipping it myself. The charge was removed from my account, but when settlement time came, they deducted the shipping label although it had never been used. After MANY phone calls, I was finally told today that there is no way to refund that label even though with the many conversations I had with Customer Service no one told me I would be charged for the label whether I used it or not. BEWARE

·1 week agoSounds like you're in Ebays new shipping program.
They automatically charge you for a shipping label and they can't be refunded, even if you don't use the shipping label.

OP1 week agoI did not know anything about the new shipping program and although I talked with SEVERAL CSR's they did not know it either. I would have used the label had they told me.

·1 week agoYour listing used 'Ship with eBay'. A managed shipping option for new/low volume private sellers. You can not ship it yourself with this type of listing. eBay always provides the label. Since you chose 'free shipping' you pay for it, otherwise the buyer would pay for it.
Unfortunately since most people here are not new sellers, many of us don't have much experience with this type of shipping. I do know that if you switch to the more advanced 'Seller Hub' to manage sales, you will be removed from the managed shipping and can list the more"normal" way.

OP1 week agoI did not know this nor was I made aware by the customer service reps I spoke with...they don't know it either, apparently. Had they told me I needed to use that label or would be charged for it anyway, I would have for sure used it! It is all documented in my account communications with them.
