Charged 4x for a USPS shipping label
Charged 4x for a USPS shipping label.
I contacted eBay and eventually got a live chat conversation.
I explained to them that while reviewing my sales for the year that I had 4 shipping charges for the same item.
I asked how is it possible to generate 4 charges when only one was printed.
I did not get a viable answer.
She seems to indicate that I possibly hit the print label button and went back (for whatever reason) to correct something and that generated the charge.
While I question that I did that, if it was 2 charges, maybe that could happen.
I completely doubt that I (or anyone else) would hit the print button and go back 4x.
The CR stated that it was past 21 days and there was nothing that she could do.
That seems like a short period of time as the eBay statements are generated once a month.
My reason for posting this is to simply make everyone aware and check the transactions which is something I failed to do in a timely manner.
Thanks

·1 year agoI once had 30 labels generated for one order that was combined shipping for 30 items. This was a few years ago when you could call eBay. I noticed it the same day because I receive my Credit Card eMail notice of a large eBay charge. I called eBay and they were able to instantly credit 25 of the labels and said I would have to wait for the USPS to credit the other five. After over a month I again called eBay and they gave me the credit for the other 5 labels.
Anyway my point is sometimes things happen and you may not notice for a while.
Do you have the Tracking Numbers for the unused labels? I believe you can search at USPS.com for several months to verify if they were used.

OP1 year agoCatch 22.

I went to USPS.com and they stated "Label Created, not yet in the system".
I checked the Archives link since it was last year and it requires a $10.00 payment to check.
Since it is a $15.19 shipping charge and I may not be able to get the refund because I am inquiring for last year, it is not worth taking the chance.
Great thought from you.

You should be able to cancel the duplicate labels if they have not been used.

OP1 year agoThanks, I will try.
Do you happen to have a phone number to call.
I only was able to go thru the chat room, after the AI BOT, I was able to get a live person in the chat room.

OP1 year agoMaybe too Late for that it was several months ago. I will try.
I just got around to verifying the transactions, I am not the best on checking immediately plus a few health issues got in the way, at 82 years old, I am just grateful that I can still do this, LLOL
My post is hopefully educational in that sellers need to check within 21 days for their charges which can be tight for the monthly statement.
I appreciate all the quick response.

OP1 year agoCorrection.

I had 3 shipping charges on the same day for the item, I was wrong about the 4th one, it was a different ID number on another day (Sept 06) of the month for the same amount of $15.19.
I am going to back tract my Bank statements to confirm the transactions.
Grouping the items when transferring the funds might be an issue.

·1 year agoLooks like it's about 6/7 months ago, so not sure if the cancellation method I suggested will allow you to go back that far.
