Changing Shipping Carriers
I am newer to selling and I recently sold a video game but when I went to purchase the shipping label, the shipping option I orignally selected was not available. I set up the game to be shipped via Media Mail with USPS, now when I go to select the label Media Mail is not available and the cheapest option to go with is Fedex which also costs more than what the orignal shipping cost was. It also did not mention that the buyer selected Fedex for the purchase. Did I do something incorrectly, I have not had this problem yet in the roughly month or so I've been selling.

·5 months agoThe Minecraft coloring book is also not eligible for media mail. The only way you could probably sell it at a profit is to send it as an untracked large envelope (which may be cheaper than MM), if it is under 13 oz.
The additional 8% GA increase we are being hammered with at the end of the month (after we just got hammered with an 8-12% in January and another GA increase 6 months before that) may make some of your games unsellable individually. You may have to sell them in lots to make them sellable at a profit, these relentless and punitive GA increases are absolutely killing the lower tier game market. At least other media has media mail rates available... for now.

All of those video games which you have currently listed can NOT be shipped as USPS Media -- the cheapest rate available for video games is USPS Ground Advantage.

·5 months agoI deal in video games. You must ship Ground Advantage which is the cheapest option. Do not attempt at all to ship media mail cause the USPS does inspect and you are at risk for the package to be returned to you with postage due or even worse to the customer who will then be unhappy. My advice is to edit every video game listing to Ground Advantage shipping.

·5 months agoThe reason that service cannot be selected is because video games cannot be sent via Media Mail.
When you list the next one, you should make sure that the shipping amount you charge is enough to cover USPS Ground Advantage or ground services from UPS or FedEx.
Here's more info from the USPS website:
Media Mail® is a cost-effective way to send eligible books, media, and educational materials. You can only send certain types of media: If you try to include anything that's not allowed, you (or your recipient) will have to pay higher postage rates. All Media Mail packages are subject to opening and inspection by the Postal Service.
