Yo ho ho Stephen!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: USPS holiday rate increases
From October 4th to January 17th, USPS is temporarily raising rates to account for peak season demand. Prices are going up for everything except international services and Media Mail.

Buyselljack be right , The lubbers at USPS been adding holiday surcharges starting in October for the last few years but later in the month. My guess is the fuel cost rises, put the wind in their sails to raise rates earlier this year.
@shado-x ,
"There is no holiday season until Thanksgiving...".
Maybe not for you, but I start my Holiday buying in October because most of the people on my gift list have Birthdays between Sept, and Dec. I ship the out of state gifts before Black Friday or Cyber Monday to avoid delays, or misdirected shipping issues. I'll also end my auctions By Dec.13 so I can ship a few days before the USPS Ground Advantage deadline of the 17th. I offer Priority Mail as an option then as well.

That's like a 100-day increase just for the holidays?

·3 weeks agoThis is the criminal holiday surcharge which everyone thinks will go away on the 17th, but what happens the bandits at the USPS raise rates higher on the 18th. There is no holiday season until Thanksgiving. The USPS needs to be raided by The Feds ASAP.
