"Buyers" (i.e. eBay associates) circle back their payment by fake "shipment underpayment" reports
I always ship the orders on time and thoroughly packed. I often put some gifts with the orders to make the buyers happy (which I regret now). I often overpay for the shipment labels to avoid eBay hammering my inbox and debiting me with "shipment underpayment" charges. There are times that eBay shadows my seller account so I will not have any sale for 2-3 weeks (unusual), and there are times that the 2-3 orders are placed each day over a week (very intense) and when that happens, the following week I am debited large amounts of "shipment underpayment" fees that reverse my small happiness from the sales. From this unpleasant experience, I learned that regardless of how accurate you are in creating shipment labels with consideration of the exact weight or size of the package, eBay predetermines (and always more than the real size or weight) and if you do not suck that rule as an idiot, they come after you anyway, and charge you later for fake "shipment underpayment" fees. This is the work of some "buyers" (i.e eBay associates) who circle back part of their payment via those fake "underpaid shipment" claims as I never offer a partial refunds. I am sure some of you had such horrific experience.

My guess is that you're shipping your items with underweight labels.
Your prices are so low that it's impossible that you added part of the shipping costs to the item prices. And the shipping prices you're charging are lower than what it costs to ship those items, especially if they're going to more distant zones.
For example, I would expect that shipping the strawberry planter by priority costs considerably more than the $7.20 that I'm seeing for the shipping price.
You need to buy a scale to accurately weigh items and calculate shipping prices.

·1 year agoI clicked on one of the listings to look at shipping that appeared wrong from search view - $4 for a large lot of yarn. https://www.ebay.com/itm/316250587458
What I found was a violation where seller has a "choice" listing. It needs to be set up as a variation listing and photos need to reflect that. As the listing currently stands, as a buyer I'd expect to get that entire lot for $8.15 incl shipping.

I also looked at this listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/316112196716
That teacup and saucer cannot be shipped Ground Adv for $4.23, let alone Priority. Definitely some odd shipping rates advertised.

·1 year agoThis is one of the strangest theories I have heard to date @nona-strega . Cost adjustments come from the shipping carrier (through eBay) and neither eBay nor the buyer has a role in that.
Some adjustments can be appealed. Others are legit. Let's start by helping you figure out the reason for the adjustment.
- What shipping carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx)?
- What item #s were affected?
- What were the package weight and dimensions?
- What reason was given for the adjustment?
- If UPS or FedEx, expand the section on the adjustment details that says "see cost breakdown" and provide that info, too.
