Buyer wants refund on damage purchase
I had a set of goblets priced at $40. It was bid out for $14.99. the buyer received the items and 2 of the goblets are broke. They do not want to return but is asking for a partial refund. How do I need to handle this?

·2 years agoApologize to the buyer for his disappointment and then reassure him that you'll refund 50% of his purchase amount (including shipping) as soon as he sends an image proving the breakage.
Be grateful that he wants a partial refund. If he wasn't interested in settling for a partial refund, you'd be stuck giving him a full refund including the original shipping, plus paying for the (risky) return of the unbroken items if you want them back.

·2 years agoAsk buyer very politely and businesslike...can you possible send a photo of broken goblets.
And maybe ask how much of a partial refund...looking at $ 14.99...that the cost of 2 drinks in a San Francisco bar by the way without the free goblets.
Can get a photo with any iPhone...a friend, an employee, a family member who has an iPhone can do it...no excuses about that. Even a computer can do it or a camera.
A partial refund maybe if I see the damage. Not a return....2 might be broken....shipping return at your cost not worth it.
