Buyer threw away the item but never started a refund
A buyer messaged me with one picture of a damaged item, but there were two items. I thought she had opened a return claim, so I didn't think anything about it and told her I would file a USPS claim. At one point, I told her for usps and for myself, I needed to see the two objects side by side. I never got anything past the one item being broken with the other balanced on top of it. I could not see if both were damaged. I just found out she threw away everything even though she knew I would need it for either the return and/or for the USPS claim. I've reached out to ebay, but the automated chat keeps telling me I don't need to talk to an agent. Any thoughts on where to proceed from here?

·10 months agoSince the buyer did not file a case for it arriving damaged, you don't have to refund unless you want to. Even if they filed a case, they would have to return it if you provided a paid return label if they wanted a refund.
Come on, to get a refund at your local store you have to bring back the item. There is nothing eBay can or will do about that. I would not even reply anymore. They tossed out their refund.........

·10 months agoIf the buyer didn't open a return, then I would say there is nothing else for you to do. If they do open a return, they would need to ship back everything they received in order to receive a full refund. If they don't, you can contact eBay at that time to state you didn't receive all the items back, and let eBay take it from there. Best thing to do is just stop communication with the buyer as it seems they don't care about properly dealing with the issue.
