Buyer requests different shipping courier.
Hello, I usually use ebay global shipping to post my items outside of the UK as it does everything for me. A buyer as asked me if I can use Royal Mail International tracked instead. They are located in Brazil an say only this service with tracked and no signature works for them. Any other seller have this kind of request.

·3 years agoI have to laugh where you say "it does everything for you" (Global Shipping) - you need to think for a change about what it does for the buyer. . .
Answer: Nothing! Except for what amounts to outright theft by being completely ripped off with incredibly excessive postal charges, additional delays and sometimes shabby re-packing / re-addressing.
The whole thing is a scam and if you keep using it you will eventually lose most of your overseas customers. That is why buyers request good old fashioned Royal Mail. Sometimes it is slow, usually it is reliable and safe, ALWAYS it is fairly priced - way, way less than the outrageous amounts Pitney-Bowes charge.
They even have the nerve to hit the buyer for YOUR piddling cost to send it to their local centre.
Nice for you mate but **bleep**e for the buyer.
In addition, you would of course not give a **bleep** that higher postage means higher taxes for foreign buyers - are you even aware that import tax is paid on postage as well as goods? Stealing from the buyer TWICE. On top of all this, buyers cannot leave anything less than positive for excessive postage costs, slow / late delivery and associated problems.
Get rid of this appalling example of price gouging and rampant profiteering masquerading as a "service".

·3 years agoHey @norternsoul - you may want to ask this on community.ebay.co.uk where posters are more familiar with Royal Mail and its tracking options.
Here in the US when one uses USPS First Class Package International there is no door-to-door tracking to Brazil so a request like that is either (1) buyer wants to try and save money on shipping or (2) buyer is setting you up for an item not received scam because they know there won't be tracking once the package leaves the US.
In the US we have a few different direct shipping door-to-door tracked options at varying price points. You should exit these .com forums and ask on the .co.uk forums what sort of options you have.
Bottom line: If you're unsure whether you'll have door-to-door tracking or if you're uncomfortable taking the risk of shipping to South America then tell the buyer your listings offer GSP and are not open to different shipping methods at this time.
Personally I won't ship direct to South America due to the many issues with package delivery, but I do know plenty of other sellers that will. It's a personal decision on what's best for your business.
