Buyer received refund and item. Ebay says too bad you lose.
I recently had an item that was purchased from Germany. I shipped the item within one business day as required. After a few weeks the buyer filed a claim because the item hadn't been received. I ended up losing the claim and the buyer received a full refund. A few weeks later the item was delivered. I went back to ebay to appeal the decision and was told too bad, the buyer already received a refund. Ebay basically said that it was my fault the customs office in Germany took so long to process the item before delivery. Because of this I am out the item I sold and $85 for a total loss of around $160. Seems as if some legal action should be taken against ebay as I imagine that I am not the only person this has happened to. Or maybe ebay should have a seller protection fund of some sort to cover these rush to judgement decisions by ebay. Regardless this is garbage treatment of the people who make ebay money and I am currently active in looking for other ways to sell my items online.

·2 years agoI am unsure just why you are taking the risk of shipping directly
ebay does have seller protection for slow shipping
if you had used eIS shipping instead you would not have had ths problem
eIS shipping takes care of any problems once it reaches the shipping hub
ebay has refunded quite a few slow shipping or did not show up lost packages for me

·2 years agoNow this is why I don't do international except through ebays international shipping. Burnt a couple times, would not ship directly ever again. Been protected by the ebay shipping on 2 occasions, a damaged package and a long customs delay.
