Buyer’s item at PO, asking for shipping receipt to pick up
This was shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. Tracking shows “Out for deliveryâ€, then “Available for pickup†a few hours later.
Buyer lets me know, and asks for a “shipping receipt†to pick it up, which I’m not sure is something I can give them.
AFAIK, I’m in the clear with the updated tracking, but is this something I can help them with? I’ve never been asked for a shipping receipt for orders “available for pickupâ€.
Thanks

·1 year agoIf you want, you can call the delivering post office. With the tracking number, they should be able to give you a little more information.

·1 year agoJust send them a copy of the postage label that you purchased here on eBay.

·1 year agoYou can but it won't help them in any way.
If you have someone that doesn't know how or cannot figure out how to retrieve a package from the PO you are likely to have more headaches from this buyer in the very near future.

OP1 year agoThanks!
seems the po lost their package, and buyer is asking for a shipping receipt in order to file a claim

·1 year agoThat is a bit pre-mature.
First they will want to file a missing mail case.

OP1 year agoTo be clear, I believe they’re trying to file a claim with USPS.
I’ve never been in this situation before, is there anything I should/could do? Am I meant to file the lost package claim to usps?

·1 year agoNot specifically.
Once it says available for pickup you "should" be off the hook.
But as I said the next step is missing mail, then a claim.
I wouldn't do anything unless the buyer opens a case.

·1 year agoHi, So sorry. But, I am a bit unclear on this. If this package has been lost then what got scanned to update it to "Available For Pick-Up"?

OP1 year agoGreat question, I’m not sure myself. My guess is that it got lost after that scan
Your buyer doesn't need anything from you to pick up mail from the post office.

OP1 year agoSo it seems the buyer is asking for a shipping receipt because the PO seems to have lost the package. They’ve asked the buyer to file a claim. I believe they want the “shipping receipt†to help with the claim?
I feel like there’s nothing I can do to help them, but I want to make sure.
