Aquiline Tracking - Item Not Received
Summary: cbzdel expressed concern over a potential scam, where they ordered an item listed as shipping from Florida but received tracking information suggesting it was shipped from Israel. The tracking details were confusing and unreliable, with instances like midnight deliveries. mudshark61369 suggested the issue might be linked to drop shipping through Amazon and recommended checking seller profiles and feedback before purchasing. They advised cbzdel to file a claim with their credit card provider. Meanwhile, uncle_pooters mentioned facing a different issue with a buyer in Israel, which was noted to be unrelated to the original post.
I bought an item with a location listed of Florida, when I got the shipping formation it told me the seller was located in Israel. I was provided an Aquiline tracking number and it shows delivered but none of it is right. It says items picked up in Florida at midnight and departed Texas shortly afterward, when it finally was delivered to me it was delivered at midnight. I asked for a legitimate tracking number that showed an image of the delivery or someone I could reach out to for possible misdelivery attempt and nothing. I did a quick search and pulled up a couple year old threads and lots of beware this is a scam your going to get screwed. Is this still the case, eBay is still allowing this? I am out the money just because a random tracking number says delivered with no other proof, no human to talk to? Is there anything I can actually do or should I just give up now?

·3 months agoI have a buyer in Israel and I cannot drop-ship it until he provides me with a passport and ID number. I messaged him 5 minutes after the sale but he hasn't responded yet. Not sure what to do. I'm stuck.

·3 months agoI glanced at it, and I thought the paragraph was referring to posters that hung on a wall. And actually that has nothing to do with the thread anyway. So what you did is just extend it with a bunch of wasted words?

"I bought an item with a location listed of Florida, when I got the shipping formation it told me the seller was located in Israel".
Had you checked the seller's feedback profile before buying from them, you would have seen that they are located in Israel.
"I was provided an Aquiline tracking number and it shows delivered but none of it is right".
An Aquiline tracking number means the item was drop shipped from Amazon. Aquiline is a back end program that translates Amazon's tracking numbers into a format that works on ebay and other sites.

Unless you post a screen shot of the tracking info, all we can do is guess at why the tracking was so out of whack. Possibly the Amazon fulfillment center in Miami, created a label for the item, but then it was found not to be in stock in that facility, so it was shipped from the Texas facility that had it in stock.
"I asked for a legitimate tracking number that showed an image of the delivery or someone I could reach out to for possible misdelivery attempt and nothing".
Who did you request the tracking info from, the seller? Since they are a drop shipper who does not have their items in hand, they would not know how to get the info you asked for. If the tracking showed a hand off to USPS for delivery, there would not be any photo of the delivery location. Only UPS, FedEx and DHL take photos of delivery locations as far as I know, and none of them deliver after 9pm as far as I know.
Since there is tracking having a delivered s can eBay cannot access the actual label information, delivery address or package type/size/weight, due to Federal Postal Privacy regulations. All they can see is the same info you do, that the item was delivered to some place in your zip code. You would have to file a claim with your credit card provider, letting them know that you were the victim of the fake tracking number scam.
In the future always check the feedback profile page of any seller you intend to buy from, before making a purchase. If the seller's location does not match the Item Location, and they have feedback stating that items were not received or delivered to a different location, like this one does, immediately hit the back button.
FYI. You would have received a faster reply had you posted this topic on the Buying board. The shipping board is mostly an instructional one for people having problems when trying to ship items.
