Appeal denied despite seller missing the Guaranteed Delivery date at my travel hotel
Summary: santbo_70 is seeking advice regarding a delivery issue with a time-sensitive order that was delayed beyond the guaranteed delivery date, resulting in them missing the package due to travel. They are frustrated with the denial of their claim and appeal despite the delay, and they seek assistance to escalate the matter. eoma689485 highlights that the guaranteed delivery dates are often beyond seller control and suggests that community moderators are not eBay employees. stevemcintyr-11 recommends contacting the hotel to forward the package to Argentina, suggesting using ePacket for tracked delivery.
Hello community. I am a high-volume buyer and I need advice. I bought an item on August 24th with an explicit guaranteed delivery date between August 27th and August 28th. Because it was a time-sensitive order, I had it shipped to my temporary travel hotel.
The carrier delayed the shipment and delivered the package on August 31st in the afternoon—three days late and hours after my mandatory hotel check-out. I am already back in Argentina and do not have physical custody of the item.
Both my initial claim and my appeal were denied because the automated tracking status shows 'Delivered'. The support agents completely ignored eBay's Guaranteed Delivery timeframe policy and the fact that the delay made it impossible for a traveler to receive it. Can a community moderator please help me escalate this to a supervisor? Thank you.

·1 month agoThere is NO such thing as a "guaranteed delivery date". Buyers are given an "expected delivery date" which eBay says is an estimate when you click more info. Neither eBay nor the seller are responsible for a buyer's inability to collect their package. You will need to deal with the hotel to send it to you.

·1 month agoThe best move is to contact the hotel directly and ask them to forward the package to you in Argentina. Let them know you’ll cover the shipping cost and ask them to use ePacket with a tracking number so you can monitor delivery.

·1 month agoThe guaranteed delivery date - eBay makes a promise that the seller cannot control and the carrier cannot guarantee. They show it to buyers to encourage fast sales, but it sets an unrealistic expectation that the seller is forced to absorb.
There are no community moderators that work for eBay, they work for a company that eBay contracts with.
