Another Scam Address: 8454 NW 70th St Miami FL 33166
I came across a prior post in the eBay Community's Buying & Selling section concerning fraudulent addresses, and now I've encountered another one that closely resembles those, albeit with a slight variation in the street number. The address in question, 8454 NW 70th St Miami FL 33166, has just scammed me. They filed an item not received claim, and messaged me saying that I must refund them because the tracking shows the item was "delivered to agent for final delivery," which according to them, USPS doesn't do. Additionally, the phone number they provided led me to a message stating, "This international call will be billed to you...!!!!" Furthermore, this individual displayed rude behavior. Further investigation reveals that the "delivered to agent for final delivery" status is associated with a Freight Forwarder service and happens when the delivery address is a big building or complex, like an apartment, dormitory, etc. This 8454 NW 70th St address was reported to the BBB in 2020. Multiple addresses on NW 70th St have been identified as scams perpetrated by individuals using a Freight Forwarding Company with addresses on or near NW 70th St Miami FL 33166, including street numbers 8426, 8430, 8434, 8454, 8550, 8558, 8562, 8566, 8572, 8580, 8586, 8590, and others in the vicinity of the same street. Similar scams have also been reported from the area around 8020 NW 66th St.
These scammers frequently change names and utilize numerous accounts. They typically claim that their item wasn't received due to an incorrect address or, as in the most recent case, cite "delivered to agent for final delivery" as the reason.

Someone using this address stole an item from me. I purchased the item from EBAY and was having it shipped to me, but it somehow ended up at this address. The EBAY seller is under the impression that I'm scamming him, but that's not the … More

I know I have had four items shipped here from Ebay, and for some strange reason, the address is defaulting to this place. There should have been three sweaters, two Philadelphia Eagle skully caps. Somebody is doing something.

Someone from here ordered a gaming computer from my eBay and Venmo accounts that I DIDNT authorize!! I don’t know if the person actually works there or is using the address for shipping. I don’t see how this person sleeps at night knowing they scammed someone out of their money. This world is so messed up!!

·1 year agoI am surprised eBay hasn't been more actively watching for these addresses.
My account was somehow compromised and my primary address was changed without any alert or notification. I did not catch that it had been changed. I made an offer on an item and it was accepted and the transaction was processed without me having an opportunity to verify the address.
I did not realize this until looking up the tracking info on an item that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I contacted FedEx to correct the address. They told me only the shipper could change the address. I contacted the seller who immediately contacted FedEx. They were told Ebay was the shipper and only they could update the delivery address. I contacted eBay twice, the first time they didn't help much, the second person was excellent, but still unable to get fedEx to correct the address.
My issue, I wasn't vigilant enough to set two factor authentication and hadn't changed my password as often as I should have.
eBay's issues; First, eBay didn't alert me on the primary address change. Second, when I made the offer and the offer was accepted, I didn't have a chance to confirm the correct shipping address. Third, when there was chance to correct the address while in transit, eBay was not able to come through and make this happen.
This shouldn't be on the sellers. Unfortunately, this was missed by eBay three times.
I have found a few different issues tied to these streets and addresses.
Here is the address mine was shifted to.

·2 years agoA buyer just opened a "not delivered" case against me on a purchase to this 8434 NW 70th St, another FF at a very similar address.
I will keep this thread posted of the result.

·2 years agoI do not know if there are scam addresses or not but the USPS problem in this area is well known, lots of forums about it, if you ship to 33166, 33152, 33195, , do not use USPS. FedEx and ups and you will never have this problem again.
You will find forums where the USPS manager admits the problem, there is even people that made videos of the situation in the USPS facility. When the website shows delivered, it is a lie, they are not scanning packages at the time of delivery anymore, they do not have the capacity to do it around the airport.

·2 years agoUSPS is a disaster in 33166 and 33152 zip codes, if you are a seller only use FEDEX or UPS on those zip codes, USPS will show as delivered in their website just to complain with amazon delivery times, but in reality they still have them in their warehouse and will not scan the packages at the actual delivery. This leads to bad practices by workers when delivering, as it already says delivered on the website. They do not accept the claims either, they always deny them.

·2 years agoI ship to freight forwarders around that area all the time without any problems. As long as the USPS or any of the other carries scan the parcel as delivered then you're all set from a seller's protection perspective. Now if the actual overseas buyer never received their paid item, then that is on the freight forwarder not the ebay seller who is only responsbile to ship to the designated ship to address.

·2 years agoWhen tracking says that 'delivered to agent for final delivery', eBay considers that as delivered. Did you enter the tracking number in the dispute?
When I searched that address a building came up with a "Logistics" sign on it. That does sound like a freight forwarder.

·2 years agoAnd maybe you might want to do a little more reading about freight forwarders.
Basically, there are international buyers who are unable to buy from some eBay sellers because those sellers do not want to ship internationally. Those buyers can have their purchases shipped to freight forwarders in the US. Most of the freight forwarders here are in states that have no state sales tax, like Oregon and Delaware, as well as certain parts of FL.
The good news about freight forwarders is that, once the package has arrived at the FF destination in OR, DE, or wherever, the seller has no further responsibility. The FF does not have an eBay account, so hard to see how they could change names on accounts.
Hope I have explained it well enough for a true understanding. If not, please feel free to return and ask questions.

OP2 years agoThank you for explaining Freight Forwarders to the best of your knowledge, that was nice of you. I'm sure others will like to know this info. However, I do know and have known about freight forwarders for years. Some more info about FF that you may not know is that they most always have a box number, customer number, or code that needs to be in the shipping address field to be sure it gets to the person who ordered it.
This scammer is posing as a person living at a street address and not claiming to be a freight forwarder. This exact address has been scamming people on eBay, Shopify, and other online sales sites. I have heard that eBay does now consider arrival at FF even if the tracking mentions the "agent".
I suspect that this could be an employee at the company or a contact of theirs, posing as a person living at this street address.
Do a little more research on this address, scam, & fraud with google search and on the eBay community forums and you'll see what the issue is.

·2 years agoSo you are positive that the address you mentioned is not that of a freight forwarder?
an-57470
OP2 years agoNo... According to my research, 8454 NW 70th St Miami FL 33166 is a Freight Forwarding Company as mentioned. This scammer has an eBay ID profile saying he lives in the USA & posing as a person living at a street address and not claiming to be a freight forwarder. This exact address has been scamming people on eBay, Shopify, and other online sales sites before it happened to me.
They said I must refund them because the tracking shows the item was "delivered to agent for final delivery," which according to them, USPS doesn't do. Additionally, the phone number they provided led me to a message stating, "This international call will be billed to you...!!!!"
