Another rate increase 2 DAYS AGO
ebay just posted the announcement this morning Aug. 10th, effective August 8. UH a little late, way to go ebay:
This update only affects:
Packages weighing 3–5 lbs
Shipments to Zones 5–8
Here's what's changing:
Zone 5: Rates will increase by $1.00
Zones 6–8: Rates will increase by $2.00

·3 weeks agoSo today, I mailed a 18x14x6 3lb package to NH from OR for $10.05 GA.
Not really terrible in my opinion.

·3 weeks agoBut shipping a package weighing 4 ounces from the east coast to Oregon is $8.40 discounted. This can't continue.

·3 weeks agoI'm just throwing my hands in the air. I surrender. How does anyone keep up with changes coming every few weeks now? Thank goodness I got rid of most of my flat rates, but not all of them yet. Back to revising.

·3 weeks agoI'm still rolling with flat rates. So far so good.
From August 3-9 I've had 20 sales. Six of those sales had "free" shipping. The shipping costs are included in the price of the item.
Buyers who were charged a separate shipping charge paid a total of $95.77.
Buyers who paid the shipping through a higher item price (re: free shipping sales), paid a total of $50.54 allotted for shipping.
The grand total of shipping revenue brought in was $146.31. I spent $116 on shipping labels. That's an average of $5.80 per label, and still have $30.31 left over.
In an ideal world my shipping charge includes a $1 supply cost per order. 20 orders = $20. That leaves $10.31 to apply towards fees.
Assuming a 15% fee on $146.31, that comes to $21.95 in fees. I'm short by $11, which is easily absorbable.
I did raise my shipping tables rates slightly. I adjusted higher for Zone 5 than I did for Zones 6-8.
I like where I'm at otherwise.
For what it is worth I've had 4 rural zip code orders since July 12.
