8-19-26 shipping cost calculations are wrong
Summary: dsalmons reported an issue with eBay's USPS shipping label costs, where prices remained the same regardless of package weight or size, a change that occurred overnight. They contacted eBay's customer service, which acknowledged the issue but did not provide a solution. sassykzt and fern*wood suggested that the problem might be related to recent USPS changes, particularly concerning rural zip codes. fern*wood advised staying informed about USPS announcements to avoid similar issues in the future.
is anyone else seeing what I am on printing a shipping label in eBay for usps ground advantage today I can pick any weight between 2 oz and 15 oz and any package size from 1x1x1 up to 16x16x6 and it always has the exact same shipping cost
This just started last night I have printed labels all week when changing weight or size you would have price changes
I waited on hold for an hour to talk to eBay rep and they agreed it was wrong but said they didn't know why and to just check back later it is now 6 hours later and it has not changed
Like I told her if this is correct I can list every item I have under 1 lb and under 16x16x6 for 4oz price and everything will ship for same low cost all the way up to 15 oz

I advise reading over past announcements and subscribe to them so you don't miss seeing them, because USPS has had a buttload of changes over the past month. The biggest one for me is the rural zip codes that are being charged differently now--sounds like you just hit one.

OPAug 19, 2026 at 7:28 PMThanks I have seen this but it only started last night for me so unless the 30 plus things I sold in august until last night were not rural and the six items I sold last night are all rural I guess that is possible just another reason it is almost impossible to make any money let alone actually loosing money shipping a 3oz package for $12 from NY to CA

·Aug 19, 2026 at 7:22 PMIs the zip a USPS rural zip code? Please see USPS announcement from 7/12 . There are many discussions already posted about this on this forum. The 3rd party outsourced cs agents don't know anything involving the USPS. It's not in their scripts.
