🚨eBay is a complete scam
🚨 eBay has become a haven for fraud. I was scammed out of $469.50 by a seller who used deceptive listings and fake images with no intent to deliver the item. The order, placed June 28 (Order #: 20-13243-07838), was never fulfilled. This is textbook criminal fraud—intentional misrepresentation and theft by deception. eBay’s so-called “buyer protection†has failed me completely. If you value your money or peace of mind, avoid eBay entirely. It’s unsafe, unregulated, and built to protect scammers, not honest buyers. Consider this your warning: eBay is not a secure marketplace. Stay away.

·1 year agoWhenever we see a thread which uses the term Buyer Protection or Seller Protection it signals an Ebayer who does not know what Ebay procedures are and how they protect them or do not protect them.
Buyers are protected by the Ebay Money Back Guarantee. If a buyer fails to use the proper procedures spelled out in the MBG, they have no protection.
If they call Customer Support, they just increase the risk of not following the required procedures or missing a deadline.

·1 year agoMy guess is that @mar_744773 doesn't understand how to file a claim, isn't reading the replies to her multiple threads and rather than learning how to be made whole, she prefers to blame ebay.

Both in too deep in unfamiliar waters
That outboard motor is a tough ship.
Hopefully OP will read some replies and take the proper actions available.

or if they have taken action with failed results................. hopefully they will return for additional guidance.

·1 year agoDid you file an item not received case? You have to do that in 30 days of the last given delivery date. If you missed that and paid by credit card, contact your card company.

Have you tried using the MBG?
A day after the estimated delivery date Ebay gave you, open an Item Not Received case.
Go to your purchase history and click I didn't get it in the menu next to the item.
The seller will have 3 days to provide a tracking number showing it was delivered or refund.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

·1 year agoHow has buyer protection failed you? Did the seller ship the item? Did they ship any item? If not did you open an Item Not Received case? For most things, buyer is king for 30 days after delivery.
Maybe tell us what happened and what steps you took so we can advise you.

The OP wrote the seller used deceptive listings and had an order number that was the eBay format, it seemed to be an eBay transaction to me with the information given. I think you may have meant to tag 10-bubblegum.
