“Lost†Package due to GLS
I recently purchased a shoe backed by Ebay’s Authenticity Guarantee, and communicated with the seller that it’d be initially shipped late. I’ve ordered 20+ shoes off of Ebay, all except this one have been through USPS with no problems. I ordered another pair a few days before and was through USPS as well. For some reason, this time they put me with GLS / GOS. Item was shipped on the 12th and arrived Thursday the 17th, and the tracking has been stuck on ‘Label Created’ since (so over a week now). For reference, it has always taken 2-3 days after authentication for stuff to deliver as I live very close to the authentication hub. The estimated delivery date was the 20th, and I immediately filed an ‘Item not received’ when the day passed. I checked the ticket and it says “We've confirmed that your item is on its way to you. We're allowing a little more time for the item to arrive. We'll get back to you by Mon, Jan 26.†I’m assuming I just have to wait it out even longer, but wanted to know if anyone else had experiences similar to this, or to make it so my packages are not shipped with GLS in the future.

·8 months agoIt definitely makes sense to feel uneasy when tracking doesn’t update, especially when you’re used to USPS moving quickly from the authentication hub. GLS can operate a little differently, and one of their quirks is that tracking often doesn’t refresh until the package is much closer to final delivery. “Label Created†for several days isn’t uncommon with them, even when the item is already in transit.
Since eBay has already confirmed it’s on the way and given a follow‑up date, the best thing you can do right now is let that window play out. Most of the time these GLS shipments just show up without ever giving detailed scans along the route.
As for avoiding GLS in the future, the carrier is chosen automatically by eBay’s system for AG items, so neither buyers nor sellers can select USPS or UPS manually. It’s really just luck of the draw.
Hopefully it pops up soon — a lot of us have seen delayed or stagnant GLS tracking that still ends in a normal delivery.
