      Combine shipping discounts

I have a buyer who bought 5 items after making an offer. Ebay automatically charged them the shipping on each item. Normally I just change to the new weight and refund the difference. When I tried to change the weight on one of the items to the new weight it does not change anything. It shows the new weight and size of the package but still has the original shipping price. This has never been a problem before so has something changed?

      setting up combined shipping rules

i originally started off with flat rate shipping and set up a combined shipping rule, no problem. when usps raised their rates for the second time this year i switched to calculated shipping and set up a new combined shipping rule for that. when i create new listings or try to revise existing listings and come to the section to enter one of my rules, the only options shown are the rule for flat rate shipping or 'none'. the calculated shipping rule isn't available for me to choose. when i go to my shipping preferences page i can see both my rules set up. i went in and edited them to see if that would help and it didn't. i tried to delete the flat rate rule to see if that would force the combined shipping rule to show when creating listings but it won't delete. i hate asking customers to pay the new ridiculously high shipping rates and tell them i'll refund later. does anyone know what i'm doing wrong and how to get my calculated combined shipping rule to work?

Buyer can't pay because seller won't sell to this location

Hello, I've started selling internationally from the US and I was told a customer from Canada couldn't pay for an item (Pokemon card) and was given a message that "the seller will not ship to your location". I've turned on eIS and have no restrictions for countries. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks!

Used items containing Lithium batteries shipped USPS

I've seen that there is now an extra charge of $7.50 for shipping a package containing "hazardous materials," which includes Lithium batteries in electronic devices. I've seen some conflicting info; some saying this applies only to Priority Mail, which I thought was not allowed in any case. Does the $7.50 apply to USPS Ground Advantage? If so, it will greatly affect the ability to sell some items. It seems the only ways to deal with this are to add the extra fee, which will discourage buyers, or sell without the batteries, which could upset customers at having to purchase those separately elsewhere. How are people dealing with this?

who cares about shipping fees as a seller

Why do people complain about shipping fees when they dont pay for shipping fees? The buyer isnt going to be able to find another seller that is going to have an advantage by shipping cheaper. Really the buyer is the only one that should be complaining about the fees. It has NOTHING to do with your profit. Everyone Must pay shipping. No way around it. So no advantage to anyone.

Item arrived 7 days ago for one of my customer.

Item arrived 7 days ago for one of my customers. But Ebay haven't updated the stupid USPS tracking on the sold item. So I delete the tracking number and insert the number again and now it is basically not updated at all. What can I do?

Did the USPS make their financial situation worse with the new rate increases?

With the new rate increases, and the rural rate fees on low weight packages under 15.99 ozs,I believe they may have put a policy in place which will greatly reduce their package volume of low weight, low dollar items to areas they deem rural zip codes. Keep in mind they will still be delivering regular letters bills etc to those addresses, but now with likely less small packages, therefore not decreasing their cost but lowering the mail volume. I know myself ,that I will not buy small items and pay a shipping cost more or nearly the cost of the item itself. The USPS was set up to connect rural areas with urban areas to provide affordable, dependable service to connect the country.Which we have neither now.

Shipping stickers: which ones are actually worth it?

I've heard the tales of "fragile" and "do not bend" stickers resulting in more damage than what would otherwise be received. But surely not every shipping sticker is useless, right? I'm pretty sure "Live animals/plants" for example, is not just useful, but mandatory if that's what you're shipping. Same with Biohazards (though that's...less common to find for sale on eBay XD) Which stickers do you think could actually be useful in niche situations? Is a "this side up" sticker, for example, useless in the same way as a "fragile" sticker, or is there legitimate reason to put that on?

Are full printer ink cartridges considered to be hazmat?

Are full printer ink cartridges considered to be hazmat? I looked on the USPS hazmat regulations and couldn't find printer ink. But it is a liquid, albeit inside a closed container (sort of). I just don't want to violate the hazmat rules (or get fined $50!). Thanks in advance. Donna

      worthless packing for shipping

why do many, many, many, many, many sellers continue to use worthless shipping containers with no protective cushioning material so that items are damaged during the always rough handling of all packages that all shippers do?

Wrong shipping prices on USPS Shipping

I just spent over an hour with eBay customer service. eBay's shipping calculator and "Buy Shipping Label" screen are over charging sellers. One out of every three orders are overcharging. Sellers are being charged for a higher weight class. USPS raised prices today but stated that eBay shipping prices will not go up. To see if you are being over charged on an order, on the Buy Shipping Label page, put in a size of 8X6X2 and a weight of 4oz. Then change the weight to 8oz. If you get the same label price you are being over charged. There should be a price change for these two different wights. Currently the only way around this eBay malfunction is to buy your label from Pirate Ship. They tend to have prices within a few pennies of eBay but you will see a huge difference today. A 4oz package may be $2 more on eBay. Not sure is eBay will stop overcharging their sellers any time soon. Please contact their customer support team if you see this issue. They may only correct this for sellers that contact them. Let them know that your orders are defaulting to the wrong weight class and you are being charged for the USPS increase when you shouldn't be. If their agent uses the shipping calculator and changes the weight as I instructed, they will see the issue.
