Hello,

I am based outside US and last november a couple of sale I made got stuck in custom in El Salvador and Italy so both buyers opened a "not receive case" that they both closed when they receive the items a couple of weeks later. Due to this situation my account has been restricted and I am now unable to sell anymore. I've been on ebay for 21 years and I have 100% positive feedback. This is my only source of income at the moment and I wonder if there's a way to revert this situation as I feel this is unfair.

BBE is not suspicious activity.

You should have been provided with an email noting the cause of your restriction and how to remedy the problem. Not all problems can be remedied.

As a Hungarian seller I have been in the same situation for 6 months already! In addition in my case there were no cases opened by buyers. During the auction period the Hungarian Post stopped servicing parcels to the States, therefore I had to cancel some orders. Ebay automatically scored this as bad performance regardless of the fact that cases were not opened. After almost 6 months I can still read when wanting to start new auctions that my account has been restricted due to suspicious activities... Awfuly discrimination. Ebay discriminates sellers not based on individual performance but country/location.

Cancellations are a Bad Buyer Experience. There’s no discrimination, except against sellers who don’t fulfill their obligations.

Sorry, I do not agree. Ebay should investigate the reason of the cancellation. What should a seller do if the shipment organization would suddenly stop overseas parcel deliveries after the bid of the customer or directly after the payment of the customer?

When the auction started, such service was still available. When the auction finished and the customer paid, it was unavailable. Alternative shipment organizations would be available only at 60-70 % higher price which is higher than the customer pays for the item itself. Buyers cannot be expected to sell items free and in addition also to pay for shipment.

You don’t have to agree. eBay does not care if you agree. Their platform, their rules. They want to limit risk, so they set up policies that result in lower risk to them.

What do you think about the duration of such selling restrictions? If Customer Service writes the restriction is permanent does it mean that I will never be able to create new listings with this account or I will be able to do so after certain period of time?

Ebay does not need to investigate anyone.

Based on your country of registration, your account is subject to the Cross Border Trade policies, notably the Bad Buyer Experience policy, which is very strict. The policy can be found here: https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-regulations-policies/ebay-policies/bber-2025/

Here is what the page says about restrictions based on the BBE policy:
What should I do if my account has been restricted due to performance issues? Will the actions be removed if my BBE performance improves in the next evaluation cycle?
eBay will still evaluate the BBE performance of your accounts as long as there are eligible transactions. The restriction will be removed automatically once your BBE performance is lower or on par with the market average in subsequent evaluation periods.

Since you cannot have any more eligible transactions, there will be no further review, and there is no escalation or manual review, ever. Sorry, but there is nothing you can do to be reinstated on eBay.
