YOU CAN BID, WIN AN AUCTION. THEN CANCEL?????
I just had buyer bid on item , won the auction and then DID NOT pay. Nothing odd happens about 25% time BUT I then get a CANCEL ORDER NOTIFICATION. I know EBAY seems hate sellers and allows buyers to do ANYTHING Extort discounts, falsely return under NAD but I have never seen this. I guess its new and a way for a buyer to AVOID an UNPAID ITEM STRIKE??????????????? Which was probably only strike against buyers now then can do this, NOT receive unpaid strike?????????????????????????

Unpaid item strikes are useless. They may make the seller feel better, but do nothing. If a buyer gets too many strikes, they will simply open a new buying account.

·3 years agoIf the buyer requested the cancellation and 4 full days haven't yet passed since the listing ended, just tell the "buyer" not to worry. The order will cancel automatically on the 5th day.
That way, buyer earns a strike. If you cancel for the reason of "buyer request," it's a free pass for the buyer.
ETA: The way to eliminate nonpayers is to not have auctions. Make all your listings BIN/FP (buy it now/fixed price) with IPR. Item isn't considered sold until payment is complete.
I promise, it'll be the end of having non-paying buyers.

·3 years agoYes, they can request to cancel the order if they have not paid.
It's just part of the game. Remember eBay is putting your items in front of 100s of millions of people. Few platforms will afford you this opportunity, but it comes with some risks. Such as the one you described here.
Accept the cancelation, and relist.
