why would someone in china want a bunch of old pipe wrenches...dont they have to pay import fees...how does ebay ship internationally...maybe they have their own plane..lol

·7 months agoSo, why would someone in China want a bunch of old pipe wrenches? 🤔 For one, vintage American wrenches are made with some high-quality steel, way better than what's used in a lot of modern tools, China loves good scrap metal. They can melt these bad boys down and use them to make all sorts of new tools, keeping costs low.
Plus, there's a market for old-school tools, even if they're not exactly 'collectibles'. Someone's probably going to clean them up and flip them, either locally or overseas.

·7 months agoChina charges duty on about 75% of imports from the USA. The duty seems to run about 25% on average.
The USA charges a tariff (federal sales tax) on 100% of Chinese goods with an average of 47%.

·7 months agoManufacturing quality is possibly the issue, or maybe the metal has significant scrap value in China.
