Wow - Seller Fees are way to high - ripoff
I haven't sold anything on ebay in maybe about 10 years. I was shocked to be charge 10% of the items price. Wow! That is a complete ripoff. I will be closing my account and never using pathetic ebay again. There are so many newer and less expensive ways to sell now. I don't see why anyone would sell anything on ebay. What a horrible ripoff

·1 year agoWhere are you getting 10%? That's a great deal. Ebay is charging me like 13%. And they also charge 13% on shipping, so it's basically 26% fee since I pocket none of the shipping money.

·1 year agoJeez how did this stupid thing even stay active for 5 months from Dec '20 to May '21. Never mind how did it get found NOW, out of all the "eBay fees are too high, I'm leaving" threads that have posted in the past half-decade. 🤣

·5 years agoEbay fees are a rip off. It was cheaper when payment was through PayPal. I hope they get hit with another class action law suit like they did a few years ago and had to pay money back. I sold item for $1500 and they took $191. Said we can list for free but at the end get a $.30 insertion fee. I'm never selling on ebay again. There are other free services like Facebook market place. Since Covid, business like this has been ripping people off. If i had the power and money, I would begin the class action suit against them.

·5 years agoI find my fees to be about the same as with PP.
The sales tax rate is generally the determining factor that results in the higher, or lower fee, but mine pretty much even out.
Below about 6% overall fees lower.
Above 6% overall fees higher.
Yup, I know most are over 8%, but toss in some sales to "0" sales tax locales, and that helps.
My "business model" allows me to bump the lower price items a few pennies, and the higher price ones, if the market will bear, a few $$. All works out in the end.
$1500 sale pre MP would have been $150.00 for eBay (10%)
+ $43.80 for PP (2.9% +$0.30)
$193.80

·5 years agoThe final value fee rate for sellers who don't have a Store subscription has been 10% in most categories since 2013.
For sellers who have a Store subscription ay the Basic level or higher, the rate in the video consoles category is 4%.
Too bad you didn't do some research first.

·1 year agoSomebody needs to do there homework because here on e-bay it not 10% it is more like 13.25 % and it is just going up as I have been selling for quite some time and its getting worse and worse for fee's as they just keep going up and up and they never stop as there should be a cap on the fee's they can charge a seller ,both local and federal because it is getting to the point that if you sell an item worth a hundred dollars and all of the sellers trying to sell lower than the other sellers and then lets not forget about free shipping ,that is if you ever want your item to sell and then you have e-bay famous fee's they charge the sellers and dont forget the actual price you paid for the item you are selling and if you are lucky you might get about $35.00 to $45.00 that you get to keep plus like I said whatever you paid for originally for the item you are selling and god forbid if you have a wrongful return or a legit return you have to pay for the return shipping on that as well and pay e-bay the shipping label they provide you which is never less than what you spent for the item to be originally shipped as they always use the more expensive shipping service like USPS instead of Fed-Ex ,so people what do you end up keeping for yourself ? I have watched there fee's go up and up through the years and no matter what people say or do ,whether there new or the sue they continue with there outrageous fee schedule and never stop but they give us a lot of updates and promises and what they have done for buyers and sellers for the unique services they provide ,but they never stop increasing there fee's so where does it end for the fee's increases ? I mean 13.25% ? I wont be around by then but I can see the fees being up to 50% in the next 10 to 15 years !! Just my opinion cause nothing will change after I have posted this reply and will probably never even be read !! Have a good one as I have got a headache and need to go !!

you have bumped and are posting to a 4 year old thread.

·1 year agoYes, a 4 year old thread @berdoo08 . You need to take that into consideration. When this was started, Ebay was actively onboarding sellers to the Managed Payment program. They started in July 2020 and completed the end of 2021.
Before we entered Managed Payments, most categories had a 10.2% FVF on the product and the shipping. Then we paid another 3% on the entire amount the buyer paid to PayPal, as they were our Money processor. That is a total of 13.2%.
Managed payments made Ebay our money processor and we no longer used the services of PayPal for money processing for the sellers. So Ebay started charging us for Money Processing too. That is when they went to 13.25% in most categories.
it is important to stay up on the history.

·1 year agoLOL, thanks for the correction. I"ll jump into my time machine and fix that.
Most of that increase was due to eBay's Managed Payments system which replaced the 2.9% we had been paying to PayPal. As noted above, PayPal has increased their rate, so it's now cheaper overall to use Managed Payments.
Just to show that there are no hard feelings, I will gift you some punctuation. You seem to have plenty of exclamation marks but no periods. Happy New Year!
