Wondering about payout schedules and payment holds
Summary: shire123 is questioning whether a seller's payout schedule might affect the likelihood of payout holds on their account, noting that their own schedule allows payments to often occur after an item has been delivered. They suggest that this timing might reduce the chance of holds. dhbookds responds by saying there are too many variables to make a generalized statement about this theory.
I see on these boards many complaints about payout holds that sellers encounter. I know that there are a number of criteria that ebay uses to place payout holds. I wonder if a seller's payout schedule MIGHT influence having payout holds being placed on their account. I sell only to US addresses. I also have a weekly payout schedule. With my 1 day handling time in many cases the item will already have been delivered by the time I get my payout. My average sale to date is close to $90 with some sales being well over $1000.
To me it kind of makes sense that if ebay has the money until after delivery that there would be less likelihood of a payment hold????

·1 month agoPayout schedules depend on your account status and sales history. New sellers or higher-risk transactions may have payment holds, but once your account builds trust, payouts become faster and more regular.
