Winter Storm Fern

Question

I guess eBay isn't going to protect us from the storm defects on our dashboards, as they promised.

I had one lonely sale that wasn't shipped on time and only one day late. Post offices were closed on Monday. As soon as I realized the post offices were closed, I added Time Away to my account. I shipped Tuesday morning as soon as it was safe, but my dashboard already shows a late shipment ding. The only late shipment ding I have ever gotten. eBayâ€™s announcement says protections are automatically applied, but I'm still seeing the defect.

What is up with eBay - are they going to fix our dashboards? They don't want all of us calling them, do they?

@wrightstuff4u09 @cicadaonthewalldesigns It may be removed when they do evaluations this month, though I thought they removed them within 72 hours. If it isn't removed, appeal the defect. You can select a reason beyond your control ("Weather" is listed as an example). Explain in the text box you are in an area that was impacted by the severe winter weather and that the shipment falls under eBay's seller protections that were issued January 24. If a buyer filed an INR, make sure you meet the criterion to be protected, including having a physical scan from the carrier.

You are 2 weeks too early for that supposition.

Seller evaluations take place on the 20th of each month. eBay protections will kick in before that happens.

Your account has not been impacted yet @wrightstuff4u09 ; what you're seeing on your dashboard's "if we evaluated you today" stats is projected info that will be updated before those stats have any impact on your account. They are usually updated just a couple of days before the 20th eval. Give it more time.

In the future, use Time Away mode when you see severe weather coming. That's one of the reasons eBay makes that tool available to all sellers. You can keep selling while on Time Away.

If you allow sales while away, make sure you read all the exclusions carefully.

Plan to have any auctions or offers end a week before you leave. If you have automated offers enabled, turn them off here.

There's an option to set up an out of office auto-response within the Time Away settings.

Keep in mind you're still responsible for handling any return requests, claims or payment disputes that are filed while you're away. You may want to check in via the app or through a web browser on your phone every couple of days.

I was hoping they would protect the sellers! I have two that were late and will push me down to "above standard" seller level. Does anyone know who to specifically contact to get it updated?
