Windows 11 Update Messed up my laptop, now I can't even open my photos to edit
So I had to pay $300 to fix my laptop after the latest update for Windows 11.
I heard a lot of people had issues with that update.
Recently I started using Paint for a short-term project I'm involved in. After I started using that, my photo icons become the WordPad icon ~no preview.
I was able to open them if I left-clicked and clicked "open with" "photos".
But this morn, after that Microsoft shutdown, I can't open my photos at all and most of them are that WordPad icon. SO I can't even see what the photo is until I upload it to the listing.
Anyone else experiencing this? Can you help me with this? Thank you for any advice.

·2 years agoIMO it is way too soon to expect to do productive work on Windows 11.
I am a certified "late adopter" of technology. I may not update when Win10 support ends this fall. I'll simply add a new anti-virus package.

·2 years agoSeveral months ago, I read a review which opined that when you updated to Windows 11, you were no longer in charge of your device and in effect no longer owned your computer.
Scared me so much that I have stayed on Windows 10.

OP2 years agoSorry about the delay in response. TBH, I forgot I even made this post.
I've been dealing with WIndows issues ever since, even though the computer store 'fixed' my laptop.
My recent laptop came with Windows 11 installed.
It's horrible.
now my printer is messed up. I can't print a label. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, updating both printer and all laptop apps and programs . . . .
UGH!
Even my printer icon has changed. It was always the Envy 5500 series. Now it's saying the actual host name.
UGH!
I'm trying to figure out if I can still pick the label up at the USPS if I already paid for it and tried to print it at home.

·2 years ago@fredgsanford712 Can you change it under Settings / Apps / Default Apps like you can in Windows 10?

OP2 years agoI'm not sure. I'm stillhaving issues with it. But at least now I can access my photos through a backdoor way.
I hate Windows 11.
