Why was the board management changed?
Summary: The discussion revolves around the change in management of the message boards, with participants speculating on reasons such as contract changes, cost issues, and technology upgrades. dhbookds mentioned that eBay simply switched teams, while hartungcards suggested that increased system activity led to delays. grann-4629 criticized eBay for not hiring their own staff, proposing it might be a financial issue. Contrarily, darn_yankee believes change is positive. Concerns about security and organizational improvements were also raised among participants.
Why was the company running these boards changed? Did they go out of business? Raise their price?

·1 month ago@a-lotta-stuff Those are all decision made by Ebay. We don't have any say in the matter any more than we have on other similar sites. Ebay is just trying to improve the experience here. I know the new threads are getting mixed reviews some like them some don't. But the same was true of the old version.
With that said, this is a very young community under the current Bevy AI. Bevy has a lot to learn as we all do. There will be changes, hopefully for the better. Just give it some time to settle in and hear all the concerns and positive things members have to say.

·1 month agoBecause it was working well under the old management and eBay decided they needed to stir things up a bit.
The new management is not great. The order of postings in the threads is ridiculous; all mixed up and hard to follow. There are a few other annoyances but I think that's the biggest complaint on here.

This was due to an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which was causing processing delays.

·1 month ago · EditedNo idea. Too expensive? Unreliable? Security issue or concern? Technical incompatibilites? Risk management? My understanding is the new messageboard is a first-party tool built and run by eBay.

·1 month agoIt's built and run by Bevy, who does the boards for a number of other companies (I've seen users here saying that they run Etsy's boards, I think).

·1 month agoIf eBay really cared about their members they would hire and pay eBay employees to work this forum ... people with the real answers to honest questions instead of a place to gripe and whinge about everything that's bad about the venue. Maybe they just don't have enough money ... perhaps they should contact that Gamestop guy again and ask him for a loan.
