Why is ebay holding part of my payout?
Ebay is holding a good portion of a recent payout (from a completely unrelated transaction) because I have an open return that is still in processing (because the buyer is being lazy and hasn't shipped their item back to me yet).
What's up with that? It doesn't seem fair or ethical to hold money from me on future transactions because of an open return and I have not seen them do this before in the past..
I think my days of selling on this platform are over with if ebay are going to be tyrant control freaks about MY MONEY...

·1 year agoWhen (if) the buyer does return that item eBay wants to be sure you actually have the money in your account to cover it. They have no interest in chasing you for it.
They have put the hold on new sales because the funds from the original transaction have already been sent to you.

·1 year agoEBay has a hold on bank transfers of the customer payments in your Managed Payments account.
Because that's the money they can control until the return and refund is completed.
You notice it more because you don't have many sales.
If you were banking $1000 a week from sales, a $10 Hold would go unnoticed.
That the two sales are unrelated is irrelevant.
The Hold is on the money eBay owes you and they are Holding it until they are sure they do owe it to you and not to the unhappy customer.
