Why does ebay even bother with this?
I hardly ever look at or monitor my packages unless a buyer brings it to my attention. I had to look up an order that a buyer paid on 9/26, I have 2 bus. day handling on that thing. I made the postage today and was about to drop it off but hadn't yet (9/29).
I then noticed what ebay has displayed on the order details page. "Ship by Tuesday Sept 30" in one area and "Arrives by Mon Sep 29 - Thu Oct 2" in another.
For those of you who say that's perfectly fine because that date range does in fact include a time that is in the future, you really don't see how misleading having that impossible first date on the range is to buyers. If ebay is on board with including an impossible early arrival time in the date range, why not lay it on real thick and put something like "arrives by 9/26 - 10/2" which includes the day the buyer paid haha.
Some said it's due to USPS' estimates. That's untrue because USPS tracking shows that I hadn't even dropped it off yet and no ETA generates until they scanned it in their mail stream. This is clearly ebay's doing.

OP1 year agoWhat the hell is a gigawatt??

·1 year agoDon't see where anyone used that tern, but if you must know:
The meaning of GIGAWATT is a unit of power equal to one billion watts. That would be 167,000,000 or so 60 watt light bulbs. Or one fully charged DeLorean.

·1 year agoI try not to stress about stuff like this. I agree with you that it is not going to get delivered the same day I ship the item, but it doesn't hurt anything. It is an Estimated time of arrival NOT a guarantee, even by October 2nd. I also don't get very many buyers that get concerned by this either. So just speaking for myself this has not become an issue, so I spend my time working on things that can be more problematic.
