Why do I have to be punished for international buyers buying my items anyway despite restrictions?
Its pretty simple.
eBay charges you an extra percentage of your sale for international transactions. EVEN WHEN YOU LIST YOUR ITEM AS SHIPPING ONLY TO U.S. and they BUY ANYWAY. I don't care that they have a U.S. Address.
I STILL get pinched more for it, even though I don't want to sell to them. And specifying this requirement in the description never works, tried that, it was pointless. They just ignore or don't read it anyway.
I WISH the restriction applied to both ACCOUNT and SHIPPING ADDRESSES, not just shipping. Or better yet, give the SELLER the option to allow shipping if US based ship address or deny them completely.
Not only do I have to eat the extra fee I was trying to avoid, the other issue that happens occasionally the bidder from another country ends up not paying anyway, and I have to wait 5 days to cancel and re-list, wasting my time. While I don't get hit with the fee there, its still annoying. It is hilarious how many bidders get blocked automatically bidding on items that have non payment strikes and they are from... You guessed it... Another country!!!
Yes, I'm annoyed. And irritated. And sick of PAYING FEES for something I do NOT want to do, when the buyers just ignore it and get around the restriction anyway. Hell, charge THEM the fee for buying from a seller with a shipping restriction!
Grrrrr
Thanks, I needed the vent. Please tell me I'm not alone with this?

OP2 years agoI'm mostly objecting to those buyers that are purchasing from out of country and more often then not, never pay when they win the bid. That's what irked me most. Which is what led me to just not sell to anyone showing as from a country other than the US. I will literally block them from bidding if I see one trying to win an item. It happened most with used cell phones.
Though lately, I have had very little of this happen anymore, probably because I haven't been listing phones lately... lol
