Why can't I see this buyer's feedback left for others?
I just had a buyer accept the offer I sent out earlier today, and it's a fairly high-dollar item so I decided to take a look at their feedback. -It appears they are a buyer/seller and have lots of visible feedback for both roles, so clearly they don't have the 'private' setting on. But for some reason their 'left for others' doesn't show. It says they have left 28 and there are two pages, but there's nothing on either page, and in the middle it says they haven't left any for others.
What could explain this?

OP8 months agoAutomated feedbacks don't add to a buyer's count of "left for others." Good guess though.

·8 months agoI wouldn't worry about shipping it, I would use insurance & signature delivery confirmation to ease your concerns!

OP8 months agoYeah I should have been more clear. I wasn't checking to see if I should ship, just curious if I should ... I dunno, "brace" myself for trouble I guess. I'm shipping as usual.
I just made the post because I'm wondering why those feedbacks aren't visible.

·8 months agoI am curious does any other venue have the option to view "feedback left for others"?
Hopefully this is a sign ebay will be removing it.

OP8 months agoI know you are a buyer-only, therefore a buyer advocate, but checking this feature is sometimes the only thing that saves a seller from accepting an offer from a scammer whose whole routine is feedback extortion. Sure, there are also sellers who are so paranoid they won't deal with a buyer who's left ANY negs. But I (as a buyer) have left a few negs for sellers, and I am perfectly fine with a seller blocking me for that, because if they can't see how much my negs were warranted (from what I wrote about the seller), then they must not be such great sellers either, and I'd rather not buy from them.

"Feedback left for others" is a valuable resource for sellers, in determining whether or not we wish to do business with that account.
It's one of the few protections we sellers have, and I use it whenever possible.

·8 months agoThis is normal on eBay. Sometimes a buyer’s “left for others†feedback count shows but the comments don’t display because eBay hides older feedback, private transaction feedback, removed feedback, or due to a system glitch. It doesn’t mean the buyer is suspicious, just how eBay displays data. For high-value items, use tracking and signature confirmation for safety.

·8 months agoI couldn't find one that was completely blank like that, but if you randomly check the feedback of accounts on these forums with smallish feedback (say <50), go to feedback left for others, the number of comments displayed sometimes does not match the number of entries that it says it is displaying.

OP8 months agoNow that you mention it, I have a fuzzy memory of something similar. Only I think it was someone with many pages of 'left for others,' but the actual number visible was much smaller.

Incidentally it's odd this member has left only 28 for others, considering the fairly large amount of buying and selling they've done in just under 3 years. -BTW these numbers match actual visible comments. Just not the left for others ones.

·8 months agoI've seen this as well. Is it possible that it is feedback that eBay has revised or hidden?

·8 months agoDid you change sort to "most recent" before clicking on the left for others tab?

Edit to add: While above comment typically solves this issue, I noticed on a few other FB pages just checked that there are issues with FB loading. Could be temporarily buggy because of Thurs night site maintenance. Check again tomorrow.

OP8 months ago@wastingtime101 I checked both most recent and relevant in the 'All' view. But yeah, could be Thursday night loopiness.

It's been like that for at least 2 weeks.
