Why can't I open sold listings?
For years when I have listed items to sell, I would go to sold listings of similar items, open them, and see what other successful sellers have done with their listings to make them more attractive to buyers. This method has shown me alternative ways of doing things and I have learned a lot.
Now, when I go to sold listings and click on one, the sold listing no longer shows up. I'm taken to a live listing that says "We found something similar". There is a header at the top of the page with a picture of the sold listing that I had originally clicked on, but clicking that header just takes me back to the active listing again.
So frustrating. Why the change?

·3 years agoIn the header that shows the sold item, is there a link that says "See original listing"? If so, click that.

·3 years agoWell that certainly shouldn't happen.
I would suggest clearing your cache and cookies. Shut down your device for just a minute or to, then try again.
If that doesn't work, Change your browser. This is likely not a site problem, just a communication issue with your device.

·2 years agoI had the same problem and I tried 3 different browsers. Why would this be a cache issue?

·2 years agoBecause the cache and cookies can get cluttered or congested. It is a simple thing to do to clear them.

Try a private or incognito browser window. If that works better, it is almost certainly a cache or cookie issue. Those can be a problem when a site makes changes and the changes conflict with local data on your machine. Clearing your cache and manually deleting eBay cookies forces your browser to get new copies of all the page data directly from eBay rather than relying on old and possibly conflicting data.
If you are still having a problem, and other people are able to see things that you can't, there may be something wrong with your particular setup -- browser type, browser version, browser mode (mobile classic or desktop), settings, add-ons, or network.
Last week mobile browsers and the eBay app were having problems with the "view original listing" link, but in the last few days eBay changed something, and those links starting working again (for most people). If the link is not working for you, make sure you have the latest version of the app if you are using the app, or try clearing your browser cache and possibly manually deleting eBay cookies if you are using a mobile browser.
If you are using a desktop browser, make sure after you follow the link to the original listing you are scrolling down past all the sponsored listings, as there may be a lot of them at the top and bottom of the page.

Yes, but the poster we were both responding to just dredged this old thread up and posted a reply to it asking a question today. The question was not unreasonable and deserved an answer before the thread was closed, and I felt like elaborating a bit.
I hate to see old threads closed with open questions.
