WHY are there different rules for some sellers?!
I've had 2 items pulled in the last couple of months. 1 was a partial Spray Perfume and another a serum product contained in capsules (90 to be exact). The latter was posted as 89 capsules as I tried one. BOTH these items are all over eBay. I scrolled ONE page only in the Sold section of Perfumes and found 8 items that were listed and Sold. You get nowhere with Customer Service as we don't seem to be dealing with anything but AI's anymore. I understand about bacteria/germs etc., but come on, with a spray bottle WHAT part is touching any of my body? As for the capsules, I lifted one out of the jar without touching the others. There should be ONE rule for everyone!!

·5 months ago@dhbookds is correct. If you list under the one of those collectable categories and market the listing so that you are highlighting the bottle and not the contents, eBay leaves it alone. When I did HBA, I had a used bottle removed. When I appealed it, they denied the appeal but added that I could list it as a collectible and to sell the bottle. It was fine that perfume was in it. It was fine to say 2/3rds of the bottle was full. I could not "sell" the perfume. I've sold maybe a dozen or so like that and have never had an issue. The same is true for other items, like glasses. You can sell the frames, but not the lenses. It is fine if the lenses are still in them, but you market the glasses as frames.
On your capsules, that's a big no-no. It isn't even because of germs per se. It is because you could swap out the supplement or taint it in some way. That presents a huge safety risk. Be thankful eBay removed it. Chances are you would have had a very, very unhappy buyer, a return to deal with, and likely a negative feedback.

Agree on capsules.......after the J & J Tylenol cyanide scare, opened bottles are forbidden everywhere or should be........

·5 months agoSomeone will probably push me back, too. I can only go by what I was told when my appeal was denied. eBay will sure give out bad info., but I made the adjustments per their directions, and they left me alone. I know other sellers who have followed that same process, and they never have a listing removed.

I agree about the perfume. There are some that people would love to find, even a partial bottle.
As far as the capsules, that is used and cannot be resold.
The others have not been caught.
