Why am I being charged insertion fees on Ebay when my eBay store has a 10,000,000 monthly limit?
Can someone help me understand why all of a sudden tonight I started listing items that never have a listing fee (sports cards), yet there was an insertion fee of $0.25 per item.
I double checked to make sure there aren't multiple categories, an extra description, or short turnaround auctions set for these items and it is a pretty straight forward listing just like the rest.
I mean why pay for the store at this point if I am going to be charged? See the image below, according to the eBay site, I have listed 219 items of my 10,000,000 monthly limit! Am I missing something? Do I have to spread the categories and sell other items that don't align with my store plan?
How does the the 250 items per month promotional offer in one section compare to this nonsense below?

·8 months agoThose limits are for your account in general, not how many free listing insertions you have. If you look under Promotional Offers on the hub, you will find a monthly running total of used free listing insertions and number remaining to use.

You have 167 listed now, and, I presume, listed others during the month..........

OP8 months agoThank you for the reply! Yes, I see it now.
It sounds like if I were to predominantly list auctions (and not fixed price) listings, with relatively low volume (a few hundred per month max), and low price (<$200 per item) then it makes sense to scale back to the "starter store" as opposed to the "basic store." At least for now.

OP8 months agoI suppose there are differences in the percentages too (13.25% for starter versus 12.35% in sports collectibles, whereas books seem to be 15.x% for both options. And it is just a matter of weighing is that extra 0.90% enough to cover the $20 monthly cost difference between the two store subscription options.
