Who actually handles the feedback removals these days?
Either I forget or this process keeps changing. But is there still one main “Illuminati†feedback removal department that no one can ever see or talk with that handles these requests? I remember agents aren’t able to solely remove feedbacks and need to push these requests up the chain to this phantom elusive department.
I recall hearing that all requests eventually all go to that department to be accepted or declined. Aside from the AI’s workload on this of course. I ask because I had to make 3 attempts at removing the negative feedbacks I received from a buyer in order to be successful. Two from my concierge (to which I am to lose faith on their service) and one from eBay Facebook.
My reason for removal was simply that the negatives my buyer left are referring to a different item. Buyer was mad at one of the four items they got and already negged me for it (I got that removed already thru other means, which is irrelevant). Days later buyer apparently is still mad and used his remaining 3 feedback opportunities to neg me 3 more times all referencing the that one item from the original feedback. It’s a policy violation to do that.
Anyway, so my first call to concierge put me on hold and said it doesn’t qualify for removal because (here comes the default reply) “the feedback represents the buyer’s experience.†I told him that I never disagreed with that fact. I’m saying that “experience†he had is with a different item. He already left feedback for that. He shouldn’t get to do that 3 more times on feedbacks that aren’t linked to that item. He kept saying the same thing “it’s the buyer’s experienceâ€, something that I never even challenged. I wonder what specific department did he pass this request to, was it the feedback Illuminati department?
My second call to concierge was cut short because the line got disconnected coincidentally after I told the agent the whole story and the specific reason why I’m requesting removal. But at least I see the agent processed my request from the messages and email notifications I received. The emails said my request was denied because “the buyer found an issue that wasn’t described in your listing.†Again, I never argued with that fact. But the issue wasn’t described in the listing because the listing is of a different item than what the buyer is talking about in the feedback. I wonder were these agents really hearing me on the specific reason why I’m filing the removal request? Or was it the reviewing department they forwarded this request to that gave me these canned reasons for decline?
So finally I just messaged Facebook eBay and screenshotted eBay’s policy on leaving a feedback for a different item or seller. They removed all 3 feedbacks with the reason “the feedback doesn’t follow our feedback policy.â€
Was it physically the same secret reviewing department that handled all 3 of my requests? Or do these agents take removals into their own hands now?

·6 months agoThat is a Great question!, I would also like the answer to that as I'm sure many of us would, At the Very Least sellers should have much easier access to someone who can Help with these types of situations!

·6 months agoMost first pass requests through the automated system are reviewed by AI which is why I find it's helpful to quote the specific policy being violated.
Going through humans, there are times CS can take swift action, and there are times they need to submit it to the feedback team to adjudicate.
