Whats up with these buyer, Twice?
I listed an item last year, 7 day auction, starting price of $24.95. The completed listings showed one of these items selling recently for $75. I got all kinds of views and watchers but in the end, no bids. I extended the auction another 7 days and lowered the price a little with no views or watchers. I put the same item up for auction last week and got 41 views and 11 watchers but no bids in the end. Relisted it again this week and am getting no action. Anybody else run into this kind of behavior?

·1 year agoIf that '77 Dead Tshirt you have listed sells for $14.95 you will be giving it away. It looks to be new.
I don't know about the other items but someone that was there would be willing to pay way more for that.
That should definately be listed as Buy It Now.

·1 year agoI get more sales from listings with zero watchers/views than I do with multiple views/watchers. I no longer look or care about watchers/views you'll go crazy worrying about things like this.
Also, yeah, as others have said, do buy it now. Add in best offer with a floor for good measure.

·1 year agoFWIW, anytime I search for an item on eBay, I always select the Buy it Now option to narrow down listings. I'm sure many other buyers are the same way.

·1 year agomy last suggestion for the item is to get that tape removed ( lighter fluid is probably the best for that)

·1 year agothe thing to take into consideration right now when looking at sell prices is you're seeing a lot of the christmas buying so the site had way more eyes and people willing to spend a little more on a lot of items. sales are a hard thing to guage because it's not precise how it works in most cases. I don't know how the whole site works because last week I was getting a lot of sales from year old listings and I'd say my stuff normally sells either right away or when it refreshes every month. The only thing I find that works to improve sales is to keep listing often but nothing is guaranteed you just never know.

·1 year agoFor many buyers, the Ebay auction is an archaic relic of the past, not worth the extra effort it requires.
IMO none of the items you have listed are suited for other than Buy It Now fixed price listings.

·1 year agoCan you give us links to your listing and the one that sold for $75?
Perhaps we can pick out a difference between the two listings that might explain why one might be more attractive than the other.
Not all listings for the same item are equal.

·1 year agomaybe the buyer willing to pay 75 dollars already got theirs? other buyers may not want to pay that much right now. looks like another seller has your same/similar item with buy it now for about 8-10 dollars more than yours. I'd put a buy it now price on it because a lot of buyers want the item when they want it and not a week later. some things take longer to sell than other things. no telling when the buyer who absolutely needs it comes by.

·1 year agoThis is absolutely normal. What you sell takes a special person to want it so figure it as a 'long tail' item.
So, STOP doing auctions for it. Most people don't want to deal with auctions anymore. They want it NOW and not wait 7 days to 'see' if they won and will have the item.
List it with a Buy It Now and leave it be. Someday, the right person wanting that thing will come along and buy.

·1 year agoSure...........one person thought it worth $75.......others don't think it's worth $25......... some of the watchers are probably other sellers who have the same one and want to see what it goes for.......

·1 year agoSounds right to me.
Listed. They looked.
Relisted. Already looked, don't need to look again.
