What's the highest watchers and "in cart" numbers you've seen on a item?
Summary: inhawaii started a discussion about an item they found with 73 watchers and 10 carts, wondering why it hasn't sold. krazzykats joked about stalking, while mam98031 noted that old watcher data might mix with current ones, sharing their experience of a listing with 245 watchers. Other participants discussed having items with many watchers but few sales, attributing it to people forgetting about their lists. stephenmorgan asked where to see both statistics, with sin-n-dex explaining how to find them. bashort mentioned a listing with 258 watchers but declining sales over 15 years.
I don't normally look, but I stumbled across one of my items today with 73 watchers and in 10 carts.
What are they waiting for?

·1 month agoEnd the item - Go back a hour later and relist using sell similar. Sit back and watch a sale come thru. People either forget or procrastinate. Thing in sales called fear of loss. Its a sales tactic used in retail sales that works. People tend to want what they can't have. If you have ever been in a furniture store looking at something and a different salesperson walks over and puts a sold tag on what your looking at and says his customer is thinking of buying it, you have just been played. Sometimes people will argue that they were thinking about it first. Fear of loss makes someone want something more. It's a human instinct. Common in car sales also.

·1 month agoI have one with 258 watchers, I do not see anything about being in a cart.
Its a 15 year old listing with 900 sales but its weird, I have not raised the price in 15 years but the sales quit, I do not remember the last time I sold this item

·1 month agoWhere do you see these two statistics together? I don't see the option to see if items are being watched as well as being in a cart.

·1 month agoI think you have to look at the listing. It will tell you there "in 1 cart" on the actual listing, not in your list of items. @inhawaii was probably shopping for something and looked at someone's listing to see this. It wasn't one of his own listings that he's talking about.

·1 month agoWhen I was selling guitar parts in quantity (shipping rates finally shut me down) I had some with like 50-60 watchers on some items but seldom sold them. My prices were fair.
I think people just put stuff on their lists and then forget about it! To be honest... I have too! I should go check my Amz lists, there is probably stuff I put in there in the '90's...

·1 month agoI see this from time to time. It could be old watchers mixed with some more current watchers. I'm not sure when or in what timeframe Ebay actually drops a Watcher off the listing and/or the numbers the seller can see. The highest one I have right now is 245 on one listing.
