Whatever it is, You Can Find it on eBay.
I just heard an eBay radio commercial, it was all about Gucci, CHANEL, luxury accessories.
It made me think of their old commercial "Whatever it is, You Can Find it on eBay.
That sounds better for a site like eBay.
You can buy all those items from Gucci, CHANEL, or any luxury item from their own stores and sites, why deal with eBay?
I think eBay will do much better if they focus on their core business

·1 year agoSo many people I've come across in the past year either go, "People still buy on there?" that are older and know what eBay is or "There's nothing on eBay I'd want." from the younger crowd that's not familiar with them and doesn't know what sellers here actually sell - everything!
Either way, sounds like eBay needs some serious advertising to appeal to all demographics. The advertisements I do see are for luxury brands and cars, which would not appeal to the average person.

·1 year agoDoes eBay have a "core"? Do they know what it is? Would they listen if someone told them?

ebay has "focus categories" which are actively marketed: ebay motors, Parts and Accessories, High End Watches, Handbags, Sneakers, etc.
Everything else is designated by ebay as, oddly enough, "core" categories (yes, that's the word ebay has been using), by which ebay seems to mean all the stuff that isn't important enough to be in a focus category, but which they'll call "core" because it sounds like they think it's important even though it isn't important enough for them to really market it.
