What happens if a new buyer purchases from a new seller and wants to return?
What will happen if a new buyer buys from a new seller and a dispute occurs between them and a case is opened with whom does eBay stand in this case, since both parties do not have any reputation on the site and both of them have zero feedback?

The same thing that happens if...
A old buyer purchases from a old seller.
A old buyer purchases from a new buyer.
A new buyer purchases from a old seller.

·2 years agoYou have posted six times about essentially the same question, dealing with returns. You should review the eBay money back guarantee it will provide the answers to all of your questions.

·2 years agoYes, actual retail arbitrage is allowed.
Just like actual drop shipping is allowed.
But regardless of the terms we use, what the OP is doing is not allowed.
On eBay we don't really use retail arbitrage in the same manner that people do on say Amazon.
Side hustle on Amazon is to do retail arbitrage of say Walmart clearance then allow FBA to disperse it.
Ebays policy is clear and they correctly don't call it retail arbitrage or dropshipping since it's like a hybrid of them both.

·2 years agoWhen I read something like this I think (a new account no feedback)....one has to wonder what this person might be thinking of doing on eBay in the future with all these answers everyone is talking about.

·2 years agoeBay does not really take a seller's reputation or a buyer's reputation into account.
If it is an "Item Not Received" dispute, eBay decides the case based on the tracking information that the seller provides in his response to the dispute. If the seller has online-viewable delivery confirmation from a carrier that eBay recognizes and the seller provides that within the dispute and within the correct time frame, the seller will prevail.
In almost every other case, the seller needs to accept the dispute and refund the buyer.

·2 years agoWhat is the dispute?
EBay does not use feedback to assess member accounts.
Item Not Received?
The seller has to show Delivery (not shipping, delivery) to win. If they can't the buyer is refunded.
Not As Described?
No arguments are considered. The seller pays for the return of the disputed item and refunds on return.
Even sellers with a No Returns policy* can demand the return before refunding.
Feedback is a legacy of the 20th century internet, and is meaningless except for egoboo.
*A Bad Idea since it makes the seller look difficult to deal with.

I have to agree. I think I have already replied to 2 other threads started by @dakbat-61 today.
And they all have the same or similar theme. Its like they are hunting for a different answer.
And @dakbat-61
I suggest you try to refrain from re-hashing and re-posting theoretical questions such as these. I'm not trying to discourage you from posting in general, but seeing a similar thread several times on the forum from the same user is discouraging for others to want to answer, as many of the others and myself feel that the base question has been answered already, multiple times.
Thanks for understanding. If you continue to have questions, please keep it to the first thread you started with this subject.

·2 years agoBased on his recent threads it really seems like he's either very bored & making up these scenarios just to see the reactions or he's fishing around to see what kind of stuff he can get away with on Ebay. Either way, there's something shady about this guy

You need to take some time and learn eBay before you continue. Coming here asking question after question is time wasted for all concerned.

·2 years agostory will be the same no matter how many times a day a question is asked.

·2 years agoIs this dispute related to your last thread @dakbat-61 ? Are you asking as the buyer or the seller in this situation?
dakbat-61
OP2 years agono this is already closed i asked buyer to keep the item and i refunded them same day
i didn't know that this is not allowed and never done again
wastingtime101
·2 years agoI'm confused - what's not allowed? Are you referring to creating multiple threads? Generally speaking that's allowed when they're about different topics. Mods tend to delete or merge duplicate threads on the same topic / transaction.
If you already refunded the buyer and the dispute is closed then there is nobody for eBay to side with. You handled the transaction and it's done.

·2 years agoThey thought you were asking about their OTHER-other return thread, the one from a few days ago where they were trying to figure out how to do a return as a drop shipper.

·2 years agoI'd say 5 hypothetical "what if" posts in one day is a bit much, but I don't know if I'm allowed to say that.

·2 years ago@wastingtime101 - I believe @dakbat-61 is referring to retail arbitrage as what is not allowed.

·2 years agoThanks @albertabrightalberta @gurlcat - when I asked if it was about their last thread I was referring to the laptop one created today, not the German sneakers from last week.
dakbat-61
OP2 years agowhen you list an item which you don't have but you see it on another seller account you take photos and list it on your account for higher price when it sells you buy from seller to your buyer directly and get the difference as profit.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoYou've been told that that is NOT allowed! (You were informed a week ago!) Retail arbitrage isn't ebay-legal and you are risking suspension if you continue..
golfingaddict
·2 years agoI am not disagreeing with you, but could you please provide an eBay policy link that reads that retail arbitrage is not allowed on eBay. Thank you.

·2 years agoClearly depends on the dispute, but yes, in general, the Buyer is protected by eBay's Money Back Guarantee.
https://pages.ebay.com/ebay-money-back-guarantee/
However, Sellers are protected from many things, like Item Not Received cases where tracking confirms Delivery.
Seller Protections:
https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/selling/seller-protections
However, since you mention Returns... short answer is the buyer is heavily favored. Sellers have to handle things very carefully and can still get that bad buyer who knows the 'money back guarantee' and will abuse it to try and scam the seller.
golfingaddict
·2 years agoThe same thing that happens if the buyer has 20 years on the site and thousands of feedback and the seller has 20 years on the site and thousands of feedback.
And the same thing if the seller has many years on the site and thousands of feedback and the buyer has zero feedback and a new account..
And the same thing if the seller has no experience and feedback and the buyer has many years on eBay and thousands of feedback.
In other words, it does not matter. eBay treats them all the same.
brightlightbookseller
·2 years agoThe buyer is heavily favored in all situations on eBay, though sellers do have protection in some instances (not delivered if you have tracking showing delivered being one of them). If @buyselljack2016 correctly identified that you're selling digitally delivered goods, not only do you have virtually no protection against any type of claim, but your selling days could be short if you haven't received direct permission from eBay to sell those types of items, which I doubt you have since they seem to only offer it to large companies and established sellers from what I can tell.
buyselljack2016
·2 years agoDepends upon the situation, but while we are being vague, buyer is generally favored.
