what happened to TURBO LISTER?
Am I the only small seller that's angry about Ebay cancelling Turbo Lister?
Was this a move to discourage us small, but consistent users?
Now it takes forever to list individual items so I'm forced to use Ebay less.
Was that their plan?

·2 years agoI agree. Ebay executives keep looking in the wrong places to improve ebay revenue. How about focus on seller efficency in listing and shipping all types of products. Also offer soft close option for auction listings .. It is guarenteed if ebay makes it faster for sellers to list and offer soft close ebay will bring in more revenue. I bet its more then they have with all their pay for more marketing initiaves in the last 10 years combined. Sellers are less or NOT interested in paying higher commisions on their existing inventory however they would love to rotate more inventory faster its then a win win. Soft close on auctions would increase revenues exponenitally! All the ebay exectuatives would need to do is hang out with a few smaller growing scale ebay resellers and every problem would be fixed. But they dont and they try and make ebay to be more like Amazon or walmart with buyers and types of inventory focus while hurting their core business by doing so.

·2 years agoEbay broke its promise long ago not to retire TL until it had something to replace it. While TL had its limitations, it was free, could be used offline, and best of all be used to archive all your listings to your local hard drive.

·2 years agoTurbo Lister was a marvel and a necessity when I was still on a dial-up connection.
One other thing that even now doesn't seem easy to do, was that you could change id's so you could move your items to whichever of your id's you wanted.

·2 years agoTurbo Lister was discontinued YEARS ago.. I want to say at least a decade (or it seems that way)
But you don't seem to have much listed... one item...
It is super easy to do a "sell similar" ... I think it takes less time to do that than when I used Turbo Lister

·2 years agoIt takes me less than five minutes to write up a listing so I'm not sure if using 3rd party software would do anything for me, listing here is pretty quick, but one really good thing they may have is archiving - that's a time saver, and if I were full time as I used to be, I would probably be using Sixbit just because of that. I did try Turbolister a couple of times but OMG, what a resource hog. So I would look for an archiving feature (including photos and good syncing) in any 3rd party application.

·2 years agoTried it once and it took a lot longer to set up the listing then it does just doing it on the site.

·2 years agoTurbolister was been gone since early 2020, eBay citing software compatibility issues.
Not sure why people here keep thinking that eBay is 'planning' to proactively 'hurt' small sellers like some deep plot to target us out of hundreds of millions of users, whether we agree with certain changes or not.
Try Sixbit - they have tools for ebay users.
ETA: Sixbit was suggested as a stand-in for Turbolister. It can't be slower or sludgier than Turbolister was.

·2 years agoThere are other listing tooks. I have one set up just to look real close to what Turbo Lister looked like.
And it's just as fast, or faster.
The issue now is Item Specifics, Compatibility, Categories, and, and.
It just takes for-ever to list stuff "correctly" anymore.
SO, like me, we scan through as fast as possible using previously stored info. Make mistakes because it's just so much. And it helps to create bad search results.

·2 years agoThanks for reminding me of the good old times of the turbo-lister era. I definitely made many more sales than these days (TL has obviously nothing to do with that).

·2 years agoWonderlister is also a good, relatively cheap option, if you choose the basic one.
