What Do You Think About This Feedback Response By Seller.?
Summary: frugalmarketplace initiated a discussion about a seller who responded to negative feedback with vulgarity, expressing concern over the seller's harsh and offensive language. Some participants shared their views that such responses reflect poorly on the seller and discussed eBay's role in managing feedback removal. kensgiftshop and others agreed that the seller's behavior is inappropriate, while christworks argued that sellers should have the freedom to respond as they wish, as long as they do not threaten others. Opinions varied on the impact of such responses on the seller's business, with some suggesting that transparency in feedback could allow buyers to avoid problematic sellers.
I was just looking around yesterday and came across a seller’s response to a few negatives they had received. I will say the negatives were factual
And not hateful. My issue was with the response by the seller which should have been grounds for removal based on the vulgarity. I want to mention she is a TRS.
What a lazy entitled POG. Too lazy to put back in bag and give to postal person. Even offered her a $5.00 refund. We ship hundreds and mistakes happen. Garbage like think they are sacrosanct and so special. Get a life. A shrew on her best days and SDT every other. She should be the poster adult for after birth abortion. Just a waste of space on this planet.
Ebay is to blame as much as this unenlightened buyer (they allow this nonsense). Who has time to do something as foolish and cost ineffective as this?As the saying goes, give a fool wisdom and the fool still answers. At the least, contact us and ask to return. Speaks volumes about this buyer who is certainly part of the entitled group that is self embued with a false sense of intellect. Petty, pedantic, and socially awkward.

·3 weeks agoI'm a believer that there are two sides to every story and we don't know either side to these feedbacks, but it looks to me like there was anger on bother sides.
The replies this seller has left are "pretty strong" but we also do not know what any of these buyers said (or didn't say) to her in messages either; the seller commented on that several times: that the buyer did not let them know there was a problem or didn't get back to her. (We all know a buyer is not required to contact a seller and I think a lot of newer buyers don't know they can.)
Many buyers also don't seem to know about the MBG; they think they are stuck with a purchase and all they know to do if there is a problem is go straight to the feedback with a gray or red donut.) A couple of the buyers said they weren't going to be "inconvenienced" to return their purchase. One even admitted that they damaged the item themself when opening the package yet gave the seller a neutral for it.

OP3 weeks agoMy point is..it was every response..not just a one-off. We all loose it once in a while..but not habitually

·3 weeks agoDid you see she even went off on a positive?? I wouldn't have even read that comment in the sea of 'green' -if it hadn't been one with a response to it. 🤣 Man this chick can't let anything go, what an easily triggered dope.

·3 weeks agoI have re-read her feedback a couple of times it's not every feedback response that is "too strong". A couple she apologized for her mistakes and a couple said how she had tried to work with the buyer and they refused. Reading the original feedback she replied to shows she did have some problem buyers. What a buyer says in a feedback is often more telling than the response.
She has sold 722 items in the last 12 months and received 5 neuts and 3 negs. To me, especially considering what she sells, and most likely who she sells to, that is not bad. We don't know if her responses chase off customers but if they do, she has no one to blame but herself.

·3 weeks agoThis is why buyers should look and vet seller feedback, and should be strongly encouraged to do so. Any seller who leaves that kind of feedback for a buyer should absolutely be avoided. eBay doesn't need to do anything, that kind of lunacy speaks for itself, that kind of feedback being visible is not a bad thing, I'd be glad to know as a buyer my seller is a potential lunatic.

·3 weeks ago · EditedI think this has been unfairly presented. There is no context. You have shown us one-sided reponses.
I did find them after your hint in another post. I only see 3 negative feedbacks and 5 neutrals. All have responses that are similar to what you posted except for one. They responded to a neutral in a postive manner.
I do not think this type of response is appropriate, but I don't think eBay should be in the business of telling sellers how they should respond. Sellers have little protection as it is. If a seller feels like they have been screwed over, they should be free to respond to feedback on their own page however they want as long as they are not threatening other members. For me, that's where the line is. As long as it is words, even crude at times, I think should be allowed. There are people like me who read that and shake our head because we know the type of people they are talking about. If that is the group of people she wants to appeal to, it's their business. Nobody has to buy from them if they find it offensive.
Does it hurt their business? I don't know. I've never seen them come here and moan about a lack of sales, so I take it they are happy with the 60 orders they've had in the past 90 days.

·3 weeks ago · EditedFair. She should have the right to waive her pretentious idiocy around if she likes.
EDIT: but I do think eBay would remove the one starting with "eBay is as much to blame" if they knew about it.

·3 weeks agoI have seen much worse comments about eBay in sellers' feedback responses. I think eBay knows how to put their big tech pants on and take it like the king of reselling platforms they are. 😁

·3 weeks agoMeaning of the Slang Terms
POG: Military slang standing for "Person Other than Grunt." In online or civilian slang, it is used as an insult to mean someone is soft, useless, or not tough.
SDT: An insulting acronym, often used in toxic internet slang to mean "Stupid Dumb [Btch]" or a similar derogatory phrase.
After birth abortion: A violent and extreme expression wishing death or harm upon someone.

·3 weeks agoOh I thought POG was a typo & meant the PO something else that we all know but I can't type without being censored. Interesting.

·3 weeks ago · EditedGiven the use of the term "garbage" elsewhere in the same reply, I think that POG means "piece of garbage" in this context.

·3 weeks agoThere are many people who have no filter on what they say or post.
There are many people buyers or sellers who do not have a modicum of civility and behave poorly.
When people of these types interact the results can be explosive.

·3 weeks agoI’ve been rewatching Hoarders while cleaning the house (excellent motivational tool!)
Whenever one of the hoarders pretend their hoard is all valuable and become agressive when told none of it could even be sold on eBay, that’s the type of seller I imagine they are.

OP3 weeks agoActually has been selling since 2009 and has a lot of feedback.

My Opinion? I would ban sellers that leave these types of feedback. Swiftly and without notice! No chance to EVER be reinstated.

·3 weeks agoIt's hilarious how much she talks about intelligence when she's the one ranting about buyers whose names are disguised so you can't even see who she's talking about. In other words, the only vices she's revealing are her own.
What are her feedbacks left for others like? Does she do green-dot false positives for buyers, saying stuff like this^?

It would have to be reported.

·3 weeks ago · EditedNot everyone is polite. There are many people who have the "I don't care" attitude and will say whatever they want. If I read a response like that from a seller who received a negative I wouldn't purchase from them. It shows me the persons character. I don't do business with people like that. Be considerate.
frugalmarketplace
OP3 weeks agoI agree we have very little politeness today in our society…However I have never seen anything that crass in all my years.

·3 weeks agoThey can't leave feedback like that, but apparently it's OK to leave it in a reply to feedback.

·3 weeks agoEven an AI system would struggle to process all of the feedback left daily by buyers and sellers.
frugalmarketplace
OP3 weeks agoOkay….do you think this seller should be able to do this? There were many and even on neutrals they were just as nasty..
jonathanbrightlight
·3 weeks agoShould? I mean, if they violate policy, no, but should is a big word. There are many things people shouldn't do, but shouldn't be able to do is a different story. We can't force everyone to behave properly, and sometimes it's better if we don't because their behavior is visible to everyone around.
gurlcat
·3 weeks agoIf eBay had robots trained for this particular task, you would think their 101 training would be on "Comments Dissing Ebay". For example: "eBay is is much to blame (they allow this)."
Yes Pottymouth Perfume Chick, ironically it appears they do.
